Seriously Kelly, what adversity have the Oilers faced this year?

Bouma is one of my favorite Flames, but I have to agree. It is so disappointing to see him fall away from the kind of game that made him an indispensable role player.
Hathaway does everything Lance does (and is supposed to do) and does it with unmatched energy and commitment. I really hope that guy gets a serious look as a permanent 4th liner going forward.

They will face some serious adversity in june. Not drafting in the top 3 will really shake them up!

The pressure of being expected to beat so many teams on the second night of their back to backs? Hard times.

The only thing Bouma can do at an NHL level is block shots.
Every other part of his game is below NHL calibre by a fair margin.

I was commenting on the panel...they were acting like he has been stuggling in Calgary...3 points in under four games. He has been really good when in the lineup

Not sure what your concern is here with GG. He will play Gio/Hamilton, Brodie/Stone and Engelland/Bart. Sure Bart has made some mistakes, but his overall body of work for a 6D has been ok.

Interesting.
A reward for a solid AHL season?
For some reason, I don't think he's back next season. A victim of the numbers game.

I think Bouma is still effective at throwing some hits and blocking some shots, but it certainly feels like he's doing so in a manner to not get hurt.
Can't really blame him given his injury history, but I'm hoping it steps it up another notch or 2 in the playoffs. Especially vs Anaheim or Edmonton.
