Nunes steps down as House Intel Chairman.
Nothing to see here.

Actually this is a loss for the Dems and Murica, because ########## extraordinaire Trey Gowdy takes his place. So basically a net loss.

Optics of Nunes stepping down is only going to further strengthen public perception of a cover up. Ted Gowdy is a grade A ass hat though. Mr. Benghazi himself.

Fun fact, Trey Gowdy was an child actor.
He played the banjo playing kid in Deliverance

Generally speaking, it seems like Americans are less willing to listen to the sewage that spews out of GOP talking heads than they used to be. There's a chance that the uneducated, rural population might finally start seeing the GOP for who they are as part of all this (one certain Texas based poster might not be there quite yet).

Nunes is not stepping down either, he's recusing himself from the Russia probe. He's still House Intelligence Chairman. But the House Russia probe is already more or less meaningless with the Senate one on tap that hasn't been totally compromised. I suspect letting Gowdy run the show is to try and turn this into Benghazi pt 2, this time with Susan Rice instead of Hillary. Mr. Texas Flames Fan should be incensed his tax dollars are going down the drain for nothing. Instead, an InfoWars take incoming.

Right. So if there's a surveillance scandal, can't Trump declassify it to prove it?

Well we can always use some laughs, so apparently Trump over 200 times told random nobodies on Twitter that he wasn't bankrupt. Too bad he doesn't anymore

Nunes stepped down because of ethics complaints.
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/rep-d...ry?id=46620555
The House Ethics Committee announced today that it is investigating Nunes' actions after "allegations of unauthorized disclosures of classified information," noting that the investigation "does not itself indicate that any violation has occurred."

Nunez has stepped aside on the Russia investigation. He has NOT stepped down as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Big difference and one that should not be confused.

Kushner in Iraq bringing his international experience to negotiate with principles from Iraq.. along with Trump's former bodyguard who's now a diplomat I guess, dressed appropriately in his Adidas fleece.
"Honey, where's my formal fleece? I'm going to Iraq, I can't wear this no name brand fleece!!"

More signs Kushner is winning the power struggle, Bannon had to be convinced not to quit.
The man credited with honing Donald Trump’s populist message and guiding him into the White House has grown frustrated amid continued infighting in the West Wing, so much so that in recent weeks a top donor had to convince him to stay in his position.
Five people, including a senior administration official and several sources close to the president, tell POLITICO that Steve Bannon, one of Trump’s closest advisers, has clashed with the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who’s taken on an increasingly prominent portfolio in the West Wing. Bannon has complained that Kushner and his allies are trying to undermine his populist approach, the sources said.

GOP has invoked the nuclear option. Remarkably short sighted from the party who needs the filibuster the most, but while a short term loss for the Dems this is a gift in the long term. There would already be single payer without the filibuster, Dems have a good chance to get it (and so much more) if they can sweep in 2020.

Kushner probably realizes he has to live the bulk of his life in the results of this Presidency and doesn't share Bannon's dystopian burn it to the ground and rule the ashes philosophy.
