I guess the Heat's playoff push rests firmly on Rittich now.

Put Gillies in the net against the Kings.

Really not putting ourselves in a great spot to pick up some momentum heading into the playoffs...
Is the extra rest for Elliott that big of deal? We play our last game Saturday, and the playoffs will start Wednesday or Thursday.

Isn't 3 or 4 days off enough rest?

If he rests Saturday, it could be a full week between games, and the concern would be rust going into game 1.

That would actually be nice for him to play his first NHL game against his favourite player (assuming Quick gets the start for LA). Although, the Flames are still in a bit of must-win territory if they want to avoid Chicago in the first round, so Elliott probably gets the start.

The Heat are at home tomorrow against San Diego. I wonder if they hold off on any recall until after the game?

So the Heat play the Baby Ducks tomorrow? Well, let's beat them then!

I guess if the recall is after the game tomorrow it will be the goalie that is sitting on the bench that comes up to the big club. You don't want to play a goalie on Wednesday and have him come up on Thursday and play as well if there is an injury, an illness or a hangover.

But they should be doing all they can to avoid the Ducks so yes start the callup goalie. Plus make any other changes they can and stay as far away from playing the Ducks as possible!

...or try to win the next two games so that they are in form for the playoffs, regardless of who they meet.

The one thing that worries me if this is serious. If they happened to play Anaheim in the first round I could easily see a scumbag like Perry or Kesler trying to take out Elliott to gain even more of an advantage.

Start whoever comes up... Could be our Ken Dryden or what's his name in Pittsburgh. Moose has been pretty good but he's not going to lead us to the promised land

Honestly don't think the Flames are thinking positioning anymore. That report yesterday about pre-scouting teams suggests they're getting ready for whoever's lap they fall into. My bet is they rest who they need to rest and start Gillies (or Rittich) in the last 2 games. Tkachuck is clearly nursing something. Stone could use a rest. Brouwer could sit. Hamilton might need a game. Gaudreau also. Plenty of options. Also wonder if they call anyone else up besides a goalie. Hathaway?
