Mike Hall has been hit by a car and killed in Australia:

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/20...e-in-australia

There's a documentary called Inspired to Ride on Netflix about the Trans Am Bike Race that Hall participated in.

Be safe out there everyone.

Sad news. He seemed like a really great guy. Just loved being on a bike.

Did Probikekit.ca botch that? I was about to buy some wheels from them that were 20% cheaper than the other online shops but saw some nasty reviews about them.

^ in reading squiggly post I would have to believe Canada post made the mistake on the calculation of duty, only the following organizations take that long to process a refund:

- the gubment
- direct energy
- any alarm company
- pay pal (although they clam it is the banks fault)

Northendzone has it correct. Canada Post screwed up a transaction. I ordered from someone in the UK. The seller correctly put the value of my goods in CAD, so it had already been multiplied by about 1.8. CP took the converted amount and then multiplied it by 1.8, as they weren't smart enough to see it had already been converted.

Probikekit was great for me and, I'd order fm them again without any concerns.

Alright, order in at Chain Reaction. Skipped the prepaid duty, and went with Canada Post shipping, hopefully that doesn't get charged. New fork, headset, front disc brake, 2 commuter tires and one tire for my mountain bike. May have gone a bit overboard, but kinda needed all of it.

A friend of mine who raced him in the Tour Divide wrote a huge story about him on Facebook this weekend. Pay attention out there, people driving 4000 lb death machines.

Anyone else get psyched out and put their studs back on yesterday? Only took 10 minutes, but I sure didn't need them!

Back at it again after two weeks away. Still have the studs on, but my new bike should be ready to go tomorrow.

Got a Giant Fastroad Comax: http://www.ridleys.com/product/giant...c-264168-1.htm

So my Giant Cypress DX will become my winter/inclement weather ride and this one becomes the nice weather bike.

I resemble that acronym.

Squeeze in like an over-stuffed sausage.

If I were going < 10km to work I doubt I'd bother with the riding gear but 20-25km one way and I want to be as comfortable as possible.

If I'm on the roadie, always full kit. Commuter bike, I'll probably put a shell over my bibs, but I never go riding without them anymore.

Yeah I'm more in this camp, not in full on gear but rather more comfortable clothes for my commute.
