Are the Oilers really going to win this Division?

is Getzlaf hurt? ... I just started watching the game and noticed he's not playing with Perry... he didn't play against the Canucks this week, either.

I'm pretty disappointed in the Ducks right now. I thought for sure they would be a little more dirty on McDavid. Ducks looked like the early season Flames

Man it pisses me off McDavid fell into the Oilers laps and he really is the single reason for any of their success

Just my opinion, I think Carlyle has them off their game with the matchups.

Well the Oilers play their best when they're being out shot and out chanced so that period probably bodes well for the Ducks despite the late goal.

A lot going the Oilers' way of late. Saw that they've been 25th in possession stats over this third of the season (Flames 10th). Smells of high PDO. Regression to the mean upcoming at some point? Possible.

The Flames tailed off a bit from their streak, as tends to happen, but their underlying stats and possession game has been strong and allowed them to bounce back quickly with no elongated losing streak afterward.

Wonder if Edmonton will tail off the same way. Except having possession stats near the bottom among ARI, VAN, BUF might result in things going more the way, especially if line 1's production stalls for any amount of time. Literally the single most crucial thing for any team facing them will be to limit McDavid. Everything good happening for them lately is going through him.

Anyways.. enough talk about that. *rinses out mouth*

Should Oilers win tonight, which is not determined, I have a hunch there is a battle of Alberta in first round.
If so Flames will beat them like a red headed stepchild.( bad metaphor)

Yup. Even Talbot has cooled off lately, which leaves McDavid to carry the entire team. That ain't gonna work for them in the playoffs.

Or should they not, with the way SJ is going a 2/3 matchup is also very possible.

I'm no Oilers fan, but that "high stick" on Bieksa definitely looked like an embellishment.

Right

Or hey, there's Florida, Columbus, Buffalo, Carolina.

You know, markets that could really use a top end talent that would help generate a lot of attention and merch sales where hockey isn't the top sport.

Instead he goes to EDM to join their pile of recent 1st overall picks.

Bieksa gets a stick tap in the face and goes down like Lee Harvey Oswald. What a doofus. But! Getzlaf scores almost immediately on the PP to make it 1-1, so well done Kevin!
