I use these for cooler mornings:

I bought the neon yellow at Atmosphere. The added benefit with them is that a driver might see them when I shake my fist at them.

My wife borrowed my lobster gloves for skiing and lost one, I rode with substandard mitts the rest of the "winter" season and it sucked.

I have a pair of gloves that are good for spring and fall riding. They also work great in the winter with bar mitts.
I bought them at MEC. I am sure I paid around $40 for them, but I don't see them on the website right now, but there are a couple of options there depending on what your budget is

I noticed a bunch of cyclists on the closed portion of hwy 66, west of Elbow Falls. Has anyone headed up there this spring? Wondering how far the road goes this time of year, before snow and ice are a thing.

How long does Chain Reaction take to get here? I assume I want to use the pre-paid duty feature, order will be around $200 by the time I am done.

FWIW, I tried The Bike Shop, Bow Cycle, Calgary Cycle and Goodlife. No one had something suitable. Goodlife were 95% threaded! No online shops in Canada have anything either, so it was done to Jenson and Chain Reaction. Jenson has the Surley, but Chain reaction has one that is about half the weight, so going with that. Price would be about the same by the time it gets here, ~$150 CAD.

I have rims and spokes on order. It's been two weeks so far. I went with Canada Post to see if I can avoid duty.

I just got some Ultegra pedals from Jensen (50% off) - ordered Monday, arrived today with no duty.

I know it's not Chain Reaction but the shipping times should be similar right?

The items I ordered last week from Chain Reaction took three days via DHL.

I typically order from Jensen and I find it usually takes two weeks or so to come from California. And comes with no duties or other fees.
I only ordered from crc once, took about three weeks or so via Canada post, got hit with duty on pickup at Chinook postal outlet.

Have ordered from Jensen ever since.

I wouldn't prepay duty. I think I've paid duty once out of many, many orders. Bike parts are supposed to be duty exempt, except entire bicycles or assembled wheels I believe.

I've ordered assembled wheels and not gotten dinged for duty.

CR shipping times vary wildly, I think depending on the size of the package they are shipping you they use different shippers. Usually not more than a couple weeks plus a day or two. Sometimes way faster.

That last number doesn't look fun at all.

I ordered rims last year from Pro Bike Kit. The order was placed on a Tuesday, shipped on a Thursday, received into customs Monday, and delivered Thursday. So from placing the order to receiving it was 9 days. I was charged duty by Canada Post, and I was delighted they actually charged the correct amount, by using the proper codes and exchange rates. I've had them royally botch this calculation before, and it took three months to get the difference back.

Sorry, I should have linked to Strava. Thanks to KTrain for bailing me out.

I'd be in for a quarter of it perhaps - like the downtown portion. I can't believe they couldn't find a way to get the Shag Ripper in that route, though. I hate that hill.
