This is a good "playoff" lesson.

I have no problem at all with what Tkachuk is doing, but don't let that be the focus. Play your game. Right now they are playing into the Kings hands.

Kings games up to this point have featured a Kings team that looks like it knows the season is over. An Iggy fight and a targeted Doughty has the Kings firmly engaged in this one.

I don't know how anyone can question the effort tonight. Looks to me like the boys are battling hard and leaving it all on the ice. The effort is definitely there. You can question the strategy and execution but definitely not the effort.

Flames screwed up by getting them fired up for what would otherwise be a depressing/deflating game with little meaning.

I feel like I should clear something about my post on Iginla.

Look, I loved him as much as every Flames fan did. Maybe saying 'behaving like a goon' was a poor choice of words. The point of my post though still stands, and I think a lot of people didn't understand the true meaning of it. There are different ways of standing up for team mate, and he doesn't need to come here and make a statement. He did it the last time too with Gio. It's the Flames for crying out loud. You don't have anything more to prove here. You were a hero here and everyone respects and appreciates that. And I know he doesn't owe them anything but you don't have any statements left to make here. That's the respect thing I was taking about. That's all. I am perfectly fine if people still don't agree but I just wanted to make it clear. Again, the 'goon' thing was just me overreacting to a pretty emotional first period.

That was an awful second period for the Flames. They got caught up in all the chippiness and allowed the Kings to play their game. Forget all the extracurricular activities and focus on beating them by speed and skill.

You know he does that regardless of what team he is playing, right? He isn't going to lay down on his style of play for nostalgia reasons, especially when his team is hanging on by a thread. Iginla is a competitor and wants to win.

He was the same when he played for us.
