Ya I doubt this is his last game in the Dome, he's already talked about coming back and how his kids really want him to. I think he signs one more year with a playoff team at league minimum or close to it. I can't see him going out on a team that doesn't even make the dance.
Either way though it's always great to see Iggy get his due respect at the Dome.

Don't think he's retiring yet. Must be annoying as a player when people start planning your retirement before you do.

If someones going to the game tonight, should make a sign saying
"WITH ALL DO RESPECT IGGY, WE LOVE YUH!!!! BUT S*CK IT" when the Flames clinch their spot after beating the Kings tonight.

I've watched Iggy play 8 or 9 times this year and I didn't think he played all that bad in any of them. He certainly didn't look washed up or out of place. I don't see why he couldn't play one more year after this.

He's playing next year. with the expansion there will be room on somebody's roster for a washed up legend who can score 15 goals.

possibly clinching a playoff berth while eliminating Sutter and Iggy in the latter's last game at the dome.
couldn't write a script like that on purpose.

If Brouwer is selected by Vegas, who better to replace him?

I would think that Iggy would turn that down unless he earned it.

Lazar, Jankowski, Klimchuk, Eat bread, poirier, Pribyl, or another rookie who earned a spot out of training camp.

Iggy is still a serviceable player... since joining the Kings he's put up 4 goals in 12 games which is more than 25 goals in a season (82 games). He didn't score much on Colorado because he was on an awful team with no playmakers. He's still good enough to play next year.

It may we'll be the last game, but I bet even he doesn't know if that's the case. I'm betting it all depends on offers in the off-season. And it's not about ability. He can play at least a regular role on pretty much any team. There's just a price line under which he won't play, whether he has the chops or not. Will someone pay, say $2M+ for a 40 year old fourth liner? I don't see Iginla signing to move temporarily and play somewhere for a year at much less.

I think he plays next year. Someone will take a chance on him with a cheap 1 year deal.

For Iginla it's going to be about role and his willingness to adapt to it. As a 9-12 forward on a lower cost deal, someone in the NHL likely could use him. But for a player who spent 16 seasons as being the alpha dog that can be a tough transition to make. Gary Roberts as an example was able to do this, but he didn't have anywhere near the success for as long as a guy like Iginla did, not to mention the adversity in overcoming a significant injury that forced him out of the game.

If he scores against us tonight, I hope Beezley gives him the ol' "JAROOOOOOOOOOME IGINLAAAAA!!!!!!!" and the crowd goes wild.
Otherwise, sit back let Iggy make his own life choices.
