Easier said than done, we've been there twice in my recent memory. Once the dust settles it's amazing how quickly you want more. First round losses to the Nucks quickly became unacceptable to me in 04 and two years ago. Might just be the fact we drew a rival, but if we somehow draw the Oilers, there won't be an Oiler or Flames fannaround happy with just making it.

Only one in the elc is Conn Smythe.. so yeah, that better not happen. IIRC only those old vet contracts can include random bonuses like that.

Anaheim and San Jose don't even have to finish their games and they've officially clinched a playoff spot with LA's loss.
Any win tomorrow and an X goes beside the Flames too.
Sadly, my favourite E=NG stat is no more. For the first time since 1988, the Oilers have won more than 50% of their games in a season. It's a sad day for hockey.

It is mainly signing bonus not performance based. He gets a lump sum every July 1st and a smaller salary though the season.

No, that's not even possible. The only way a veteran contract can contain any performance bonuses is if the player is over 35 and signs a one-year deal (like Iginla's deal in Boston).

That would be funny. 19th round of the shootout, the backup goalies take a turn. 20th round, the starting goalies have to go.

Iginla made a bad choice for going to the Kings. Not sure if other playoff-bound teams were interested in him. He pretty much made a bunch of bad/unfortunate picks when signing for any teams after being dealt from Calgary?
