And I am a huge Brodie fan. But come on.

It's a set play. The puck carrier is skating towards you, so you as the defenceman are skating backwards. When they drop it back like that, everyone needs to stop skating backwards and start skating forward to get back into position at the blue line. As they are skating forward, Gaudreau comes charging at them and uses their own momentum against them.

More and more teams are starting to use it as a viable zone entry on the PP. I'm not a fan, but can't deny it works more often than not.

Agreed. Night and day from the caps game. Pick it up Sean.

Brodie too. What's he doing out there. Stop being fancy, simplify the game. Everything towards the net. He's more than capable of skating the puck into the zone himself.

Sometimes I feel like Mony thinks the NHL is a country club.

I have zero faith in the first power play unit.
Wish we could turn that last penalty down. The refs will gift them two powerplays in the third now

Ya I gave the PP unit a pass vs Boston cuz that team is just incredible on the PK but the execution tonight gets no excuses. Lots of bobbled and mis played pucks combined with poor decision making. Can't wait till Tkachuk is back

His quarterbacking skills aren't good enough and I'd rather see him on the second unit and Hamilton and Gio on the first.

Brodie and Stone on the second unit.

Really? Aside from this year, I've always thought Brodie was one of our best on the point on the PP. Once again, aside from this year. He's looking super sloppy, especially tonight.

I know its a set play and there have been games when it works, but it is being executed very poorly this game.

I don't think he belongs on a first unit. He doesn't have a shot at all so teams never have to fear point shots. The 2nd unit is more effective because Hamilton and Gio can both score from the point and that opens up the underneath stuff.

			Wow.
This GT is a moanfest. I know the PP hasn't done anything and it's frustrating, but they are down one on the road against a tough team. Plenty of time and opportunity to win this one.

Have you watched the PP's? It's been excruciating. Are we not supposed to comment on how bad it's looked?

Yep, good game overall. We'd be up 3-2 with a PP that wasn't struggling as much as it is.

Even still, both goals against would normally be prevented by some better defensive decisions. Flames are 1 shot away regardless.

Yeah, I think he needs a big shot on his half boards as I think he has good distribution skills. Putting Versteeg or Johnny on those half boards kinda renders Brodie useless there. We need a big shot there.
