Have to be excited about both the present and future of Canadian tennis - Milos' biggest opponent these days is just staying healthy, if he can conquer that foe, he just might be able to capture that elusive major. As for Denis and Felix, what can you say about these budding talents except wowza.

Canada to face Kazakhstan in a Federation Cup tie at Montreal’s Uniprix Stadium next month. The five-match set will be held April 22 and 23, with the winner advancing to World Group II play for 2018.

Another first round exit for Genie, this time to a wildcard ranked number 91. It's kinda funny that we all thought she had a pretty decent start to the year, because she hasn't won a match in two months now. Only a matter of time till she's in the triple digits ranking wise. I hope for her sake she's managing her money well.

I was trying to think of something to post about Genie, but you summed everything up nicely.

And I thought it might be in her best interest to try and get some confidence by playing in April's Fed Cup, but you know what? Forget that. She didn't want to play before and this young group deserves the right to represent Canada at home. I'm excited for them.

Should start a poll. When does Shapovalov's ATP ranking surpass Genie's WTA ranking?

My bet is by Wimbledon.

Genie is the literal definition of a flash in the pan.

Her fame will end too as soon as there's another good looking young tennis star.

My gut tells me to go with Pospisil but I will be rooting for Shapovalov in this one. A win at this event would put him right on the edge of the top 150 ranking.

Pospisil beat Murray, so if Shapo can win, then Shapo > Pops > Murray, therefore Shapovalov = #1 in the world. it's simple math

no contest Shapovalov wins 63 63

He's won 15 matches in a row.

Pospisil's career summed up in two weeks: Beats the number one player in the world, and in the next tournament gets dismantled by a 17 year old. This is a good channel too for Challenger highlights since I suspect we'll be watching lots of them the next year or so with Denis and Felix (can't embed for some reason)

I was blown away seeing how far Dennis has come since the Rogers cup last summer. His first serve looks like a tour level first serve. His net play was nothing short of spot on and his composure never dropped. All signs of a player that could be poised for big things sooner than later. I'm a big fan of his willingness to intelligently attack every shot and hold nothing back.

On the flip side, Vasek just looks defeated. He was playing a very hot player, but some of his decision making combined with inexcusable unforced errors at the worst times speaks volumes about his game moving forward. Going to be another tough year for him.

Jesse Levine has joined Milos' team:

http://tennis.life/2017/03/24/can-am...s-team-raonic/

Interesting read, with some updates on Milos from Miami.

Quote:
“The idea came from my agent. He was working with Jesse towards the end of his career. He said he thought it would be a good way of having somebody there that could help me put in hours on court also without having to necessarily chase players (to practice with) – where I can have practice more dictated around me and somebody that I knew well and got along with well and a guy that’s a stand-up character as well,”
Milos talks about his injuries a little bit, too.

Quote:
So I had a little bit of the compounding of maybe losing my shape. But I’ve put in the work that I can. I’ve prepared the best I can for this tournament. I’m not necessarily in the best position right now, but fortunately it’s a long tournament. Doesn’t mean things can’t change and I can’t get better throughout this event.”

Ugh, I'm so jealous of you right now Rub it in.

Thank you for sharing your awesome photos. It's much appreciated. Although I've been to the US Open, Indian Wells is on my bucket list for all the reasons you mentioned. And what a beautiful backdrop to watch tennis. Stunning!
