I don't want Johnson starting another game until a playoff spot is clinched and home ice is determined. Now is not the time to work on his confidence and risk pissing away points.

Thank god Wideman is out. He didn't play bad at all in the games he got into but you could see his play slipping a little bit against Boston.

Agreed. First secure a playoff spot, then get Johnson in before the playoffs.

Not at the end of the season when you still need wins to lock up a spot. I'll gladly take every team's AHL squad until we clinch!

I might be late to the party but incase anyone else missed it Andersson has been converted to a regular recall (was previously an emergency recall). News courtesy of Pat Steinbergs twitter.

Yeah, they had to because Stone is able to play. In fact, they probably had to do it when Hamilton was able to play. The only other option was to send him down even though those guys weren't 100%.

Just noticed SureLoss had updated the original thread and even changed the title to reflect the new recall status. I should get banned for a week.

If you won't do it after one loss and you won't do it after a win, you're almost telling him you may not play this season. I mean before this streak they would interchange Hathaway, Hamilton etc pretty easily night to night, now sitting anyone is a sacred cow.
Hopefully they put him in soon, selfishly I really want to see him play.
|
I'd like to see Lazar too, but unless the coaching staff see him as a clear upgrade over one of the other guys (not just a sidegrade) he probably won't draw in just because you don't want to mess with what's been working. We do still have a game against Colorado before the California gauntlet to end the season though so perhaps he'll get a look then. Maybe even against Nashville or St. Louis depending on how things are looking in the standings.

So glad Stone is back. When the defence is settled, this team plays better.

I sure hope Tkachuk looks better tonight than he did against Boston.

Backlund lost most of the faceoffs against Bergeron and that line generally saw most of the Marchand - Bergeron line (statistically the best possession line in the entire league), so I'm willing to cut 3M some slack for last game.

I'd like to see Lazar in for Chiasson.
