The Players' Tribune is some really fantastic stuff. The articles are surprisingly well written and it's awesome hearing the "voice" of someone who lived the experience, not just words crafted by some journalist trying to sell media. I've learned tons of stuff reading these that I never knew before and it's very interesting getting that window into a world that we all watch from afar but don't always fully understand. Love it.

The Lemieux hit was extremely dirty, punishment/beating deserved.

The Moore hit was arguably a clean hit on a player with his head down.

Another great one. Lemieux was a very capable player, especially in the playoffs. But even when he was on my team, I hated the dives and the dirty stuff he'd do. Pat Burns once left him on the ice when he flopped, told the trainers to stay put.

Man i hated that Avs team. Crawford was the worst of the lot.

Never will forget all the local dbags who used to come to the dome in Avs jerseys and cheer against their home team in the name of glory hunting.

Doesn't make you a bad person at all. It's the truth, hockey was BETTER than in terms of entertainment quality back than.

A lot of the players today, especially the young guys are just so talented, so quick, can shoot the puck at 18 etc. What hockey lacks today is the hatred, the intensity, the rivalries, the hit's and the openness and free flowing nature of the game.

The game today is so structured, so defensively sound and in LOT of games, just boring.

Look at any stat sheet on a lot of the nights and you will see something like 40, 50 or even 60 hits. I sometimes struggle to remember more than 1 and i just finished watching the game.

It's a different sport now than it was in the 90's when I REALLY watched hockey even though I was born in late 84. In a lot of ways its become a lot more mundane and corporate, a lot of players going through the motions.

Look at our "rivals" the Oilers. Maybe it's a historic rivalry at best but in a lot of ways we dominated them for 10 years and they swept us this year. Not much in the way of "battle tested" hockey to be had from who is described as a rival to us.

So no, your not a bad person for enjoying what was arguably some of the "better" hockey in my opinion.
