If Tkachuk is out and Lazar draws in I want him to just absolutely crush someone on his first shift.

Tkachuk was low on the only fuel he needs, and required a top-up. I think they call it piss and vinegar.
Really sad to hear about Elliott though. Mononegavirales Filoviridae is nothing to sneeze at. On a positive note, at least the Flames will save that extra draft pick from not re-signing him.

As cool as it would be to break the record and get number 11, this game is vs an eastern team and not really that "crucial" of a game.
If they need to rest Elliott and Tkachuck then so be it. I have faith this team can get 11 with out them! Go Flames Go!!

Good to hear Chad gets a start.
Good to see Stone is close to returning.
Good to hear any issue with Tkachuk is just maintenance.

Plenty of people seemed to disagree with the thought of moving Bennett onto Backlund & Frolik's wing so I won't bother beating that drum.
Just figured it would be best to start Lazar on a line with a bit less responsibility but I can appreciate the idea of not messing with the other lines.

I understand where you are coming from, but if the Flames accept the argument aren't the players being handed an easy excuse to overcome adversity?
My preference would be to see the replacement(s) come in with big energy and have strong games. It keeps pressure on the regulars to perform as well as let's guys who are banged up know that there are short term replacements if they need a game to recover from injury.

It's a reasonable point TBF but one of the reasons I like Lazar with Backs and Frolik is that I'm fairly confident I could post positive possession numbers with those 2. Both Hartley and GG have used them to shelter young players and for the most part the results have been outstanding.
3-2 Flames.
Goals from Monahan, Lazar and Bennett. Also got a feeling Lazar drops the mitts tonight from a little bit of over exuberance and having had a front row seat to the positive reaction Bennett has drawn from his tilts.

If Lazar draws in and plays with Backlund/Frolik, I wonder if Frolik and Lazar play their off wings, or does Frolik switch to the left side?
