I can just imagine all the fans of other teams in the playoffs in the West hoping like hell they don't get Calgary in the first round right now.

Wow that is one salty Pittsburgh fan. What did we ever do to Pittsburgh? Haha.

Quote:
CGY is fifth in the western conference (which is an absolute joke compared tot he east this year, they get shut out of the playoffs in January if they were in the East) and five points out from being out of the playoff picture. They are closer to being out of the WC than they are to leading the Pacific.

Just because they are on a nine game hotstreak doesn't mean much. They really aren't that good. And I'm talking about Fleury's trade value as just an auxillary thing that is a benefit of having him play. He's good, Murray should get some rest, and we are a high volume shooting, offensive team going up against a thin defense and bad goalie team.

The Flames challenged goaltender interference.

But, heck, even Elliott knew that one was counting.

“You’re not getting that call,” Elliott said. “It’s 87. I don’t really understand the goalie interference and I’m a goalie, so it’s always up in the air.”
Quote:
“I said to our guys this morning, ‘We know who they are. They’re the Stanley Cup champions,’” he said. “But they know who we are now, too.

And I think it’s going to set up to be one heck of a game.

“The world’s best players are here tonight. It will be a great challenge.”
Quote:
“I think it’s more something that when the season is done, you think about,” Versteeg said of the streak. “As players, we play so much, you just go about your business every day.

“Seriously, 10 in a row would be honestly the last thing you think about.

Or nine in a row, or eight in a row, or seven. It’s just playing the best you can each and every day and finding ways to win
Quote:
“They have huge skill on that team and they know what it takes to win,” said Elliott, who turned aside 27 shots and improved to 13-1-1 in his last 15 starts. “They won last year. Beating that team, it’s a good measuring stick for us, knowing that we can play 60-65 minutes and we came away with the win.

“I think we should have won in regulation, but we did a good job of just battling through and Steeger, what a goal.”

Great win! If anyone doesn't think Crosby is the best player in the game still, look at the absolute junk on his line that he instantly makes a threat each and very time thy are on the ice. Quite astonishing in my mind.

Truth bomb.

Kelly asked why Elliott didn't protest more after the goal. This is why.

Reffing is in a sad state when management and now players are blatantly calling them out .
