I suggest CP work on their susceptibility to taking troll bait in the meantime.
We're so insistent on correcting and make an example of anyone that has an anti-Flames slant, even when it's clearly made mainly with intent to get under people's skin.
We're going to have to ignore a lot of tasty bread crumbs if BoA happens or there will be nuclear meltdowns on the daily.
There are people out there that have an irrational hate on for the Flames. Let's come to terms with that and start making them irrelevant by ignoring the odd bait. Or just, you know, laughing it off. Let's continue making this a fun place to go to, even in the heat of a rivalry. Who am I kidding though, it's gonna be a gong show.

To me it doesn't matter who we play. This team is different that the one that made it in 2015. We're not a one line team when it comes to scoring and our defence (knock on wood) is better overall.
Further more this team won't be happy with just making the playoffs. This team could do some serious damage if everthing is firing on all cylinders.

It has to be Edmonton. Not the Ducks or Sharks. Both are big teams and last thing the Flames need is a rash of injuries in the first round

Shocked some Flames fans are picking a team other than the Oilers.

Has to be Edmonton. Not sure my heart can handle it and the season series worries me a bit but I'd be more confident against them in a 7 game series than Anaheim or San Jose. Too big, too experienced.

Oilers. Bring on the Oilers.
I'm sick and tired of all the bandwagon Oiler fans here on the East coast. It's actually out of control.

Oilers are 7-9-1 since the all star break and may have to back in to playoffs to even qualify. There is no better option.

Based on who will probably be in the playoffs, I would like to see:
Round 1: Anaheim (Time to get the monkey off our backs)
Round 2: San Jose (Beat the defending WC champs)
Round 3: Minnesota (I want Gaudreau to get the ultimate revenge for breaking his hand)
Round 4: Boston (Dougie's revenge and my favorite team in the East)

Sharks would be for me the ideal first round match up I think they poised to lose to the Flames in 6

BOA because it would be the easiest opponent for round 1. Wild, Sharks, and Blackhawks would be my least favourite 1st round match ups.

Why?
Honestly, I don't want the Oilers at all. And not because we looked like garbage all four games against them. I don't want the Oilers because the media's obsessive fawning over McDavid will be dialed up to 15 when he makes his glorious playoff debut, coupled with that same media's need to justify a decade's worth of hilariously awful prediction's about Edmonton's future will just lead to a grossly embarrassing amount of cheerleading. Sportsnet is going to be completely unwatchable.
Let someone else put up with that crap.

I don't want the Ducks, cuz I don't like the matchup, but I don't see them falling to a WC spot, so I think it'll be either be them or SJ. I'd prefer Ducks over SJ and I'm just praying to the hockey gods that we somehow get home ice if we do play the Ducks. Edm has an easy schedule but they are playing bad! Ducks have an OK schedule and are playing solid right now.

Agreed. I want the Oilers to be swept by another team in Round One.

Rather than use up a couple of thanks I'll just say here that Resolute 14 is bang on. Agree 100 % with both points.

Isn't our record against the division leaders good this year? Was actually somewhat satisfied with the flames being a wildcard underdog...

I would rather face them in the 2nd round as first round of the playoffs is where the most upsets happen. Don't want the Flames having first round jitters against that team. Let the Oilers face a playoff battle tested team that's going to take away McDavid's space and expose the rest of the team. Overall though I don't really care who they face as you have to treat the playoffs as four 7-game series you must win and not get fixated on opponents. If I have a preference it may be the Ducks because if they could end that Anaheim curse in the playoffs it could be the makings of another 2004 run.

Seriously could you imagine if they got two games up in the series the Spector articles that would ensue? It would be insufferable.
