Part of the problem is we have Ball and Hrudy who are the best in the country.
So just the talent drop off makes the homerism so jarring. Hrudy and Ball on National games turn down the homerism and even on the just Calgary games have a level of professionalism that they talk about the team rather than felate them.
I think it's a skill level thing rather than intent

The Jets special teams are brutal, especially for this late in the season.
They need to get rid of Maurice and Buff in the offseason.

He didn't spell his name right so it doesn't count saying it

Yep. He should be earning himself more room and time with his toughness.

Not the greatest game, but they're winning. Elliott has been terrific. The starts of both periods have been terrible, the Flames need to come out with more urgency to start the 3rd after they kill off the rest of the Jets PP.

Who's the last Flame's goalie to have back to back?

I figure this is the definition of trolling in a hockey forum thread....

Good to hear Backs getting mentioned as a Selke candidate. He's earned it.

Yikes no wonder Elblad gets hit and injured so often. Just puts himself in some pretty stupid spots.

This game thread is so awesome.
Flames Poised to win 9th in a row, and every third post is about the irrelevant commentary of the game.
Bravo

He's been our best player all year, hands down. Just so solid in all areas of the ice.

Forgive me for being a Finnish homer but when the caster repeatedly says about the first Winnipeg PP unit that "all the big guns are out there", I can't help but notice that the second leading goal scorer in the league sits on the bench.

Maybe it has more to do with that brutal hit from behind from Hendricks that was definitely an intent to injure and started Ekblad's history of concussions.

Just listened to the 2nd intermission report on the Fan, and they didn't say anything about Hamilton leaving the ice or being injured. Didn't even mention his name.
