That's because you're an Oiler fan.

Actually, I read comments from the Detroit fans recently who really liked Ball and Hrudey because they WEREN'T homers.
And I don't think they would be if we *did* have McDoofus. They're pretty even-keeled and pros to boot. They talk lots about the other team and their players and always give credit where it's due.

Watched the game with no sound. Much less annoying.
Nice to see Kessel redeem himself in the shootout.
Oil/Ducks get one out of four points. I'll take it.

I'm not jealous that the Flames don't have him. I'm pissed because the Oilers didn't deserve him. I'd be a McDavid fan if he played for Buffalo.

You can't even compare Ball/Hrudey to Quinn/Remenda. It's night and day. Kelly's not sitting there going Ohhhhh on every missed opportunity. Maybe when he's actually spoken to but Remenda does it the entire game during live play. It's bush league.

Peter maher called games with respect and called the game/play excitingly no matter what. The biggest moments in the Flames history brought out the big ya baby's of course but Peter Maher would have finished calling the Phil Kessel goal in the shootout instead of going silent.

Was tonights game a national broadcast? or regional? What separates a regional TV broadcast from a regional radio broadcast otherwise? Yeah more people probably will take in the TV broadcast using gamecentre but still...
I did watch the Penguins feed so it is a little unfair for me to comment I guess, but I think we take notice more when the commentators talk about the other team we dont like rather than our own.

So the Oilers lose, Mcdavid basically puts a puck in his own net, and wiffs on a breakaway in overtime where he had about 30 seconds and still gets first star? Sportsnet loves fellating him.

I shouldnt of compared Maher to Remenda, but my point is on a regional broadcast you are going to get a lot of homerism. Hell, Pittsburgh's radio guy yells MAKE ME A MILKSHAKE MALKIN after his goals sometimes.

26:53 for McDavid tonight. 60th game for Talbot.
They are going to run out of juice.

I think a lot of us accept he's arguably the best player in the world, but it's the manner in which they present him. Tonight clearly demonstrates the homerism in their calls, not to mention the commericals, the Katz TV special, the endless promos.

Uhhhh if you didn't watch the Oilers feed I don't really think you're in a position to comment... It was insufferable.

Nope. I hate that he is on the Oilers.
I'm not trying to become a public enemy on here. We just have different opinions on McDavid I guess

Colby.. Remenda was brutal with the Sharks.. BRUTAL. Give him McDavid and the something special that is Edmonton and now you constantly have him saying Connor every other word and automatically assuming the other team got away with something like when he said Crosby pushed Larsson into Talbot before awkwardly walking back on it.
Hrudey and Ball are professional and call the game with dignity - very hard to hear any favouritism in their calls... it's thick with the two in Edmonton, unbearable to listen to.

I do agree that the national media gushing is insufferable but we just gotta deal with it and shut them up in the playoffs. Lets start by getting home ice

LOL - it is physically impossible for Gene Príncipe to do an interview without bringing up Connor McDavid - have never seen anything like it.

the dead air after Kessel scored pretty much was the height of homerism... only way it could have been worse is if they screamed "noooo"...
watched part of the game with the sound off until the OT... should have kept the sound off
