Also what was Bachman wearing? Was Ryan Miller also in his equipment? He looked huge in net. It's no wonder they want to down size equipment, he isn't that big. He's 5'10 and looked like a sumo wrestler in there.

I still hate them, but right now, it's hard to hate them in the same way as I used to...seems like the Oilers are (once again) filling that particular void.
I hate to say it too, but Hutton seems to be a good egg as well

Canucks have good goaltending.

Too bad the roster in front of them is below average.

Maybe if they'd traded the twins a season or two ago and committed to a proper rebuild they might be in a better situation..

Not much room for sentimentality if you want it to keep your team running well. As beloved as those two are.

To who?

That would be adding 14 million to your payroll on guys that were well into their 30's and with term

The second they signed those deals they were destined to finish them as Canucks.

This was never going to happen. If you have paid any attention at all to the Sedins you would know that they have no desire under any circumstances to leave Vancouver. Up until this year they were both honestly convinced that the Canucks were rebuilding, trending upwards, and that they would have another opportunity to play for a Stanley Cup with the team that drafted them.

The Sedins will retire in Vancouver.

In 2015 they were both coming off 70+ point seasons. They were tradable still then. Definitely not now.

Yeah. They have work to do, for sure, but there are some good pieces there. If they are committed to a proper rebuild, they could do it the right way.

I'd have infinitely more respect for that than an organization that--hypothetically speaking, of course--continually flukes out at the draft, eventually landing a super-elite player that required absolutely no development by/through that particular organization...

a couple years ago there is no way I'd think any team could displace my hate for the Canucks.....

today, the Oil are easily back in command of number 1 and running away with it.

Sorry but I am quite new here, been reading for a while on and off. Anyway, could someone post a link to this ALT board that the Oiler fans post on. Not quite sure what it is but i would love to taste their tears should the Flames pass them. Thank you.

Canucks would have to go on a run but with how shoddy LA and St Louis have been, if I was a fan I wouldn't be rooting for losses right now.

I have always hated the Oilers. However whatever success they may have is, to me, automatically disqualified with the asterisk of "suck horribly forever until gifted a franchise player". Take away that horse-shoe, this team is still building something special up there. The fact that someone has finally figured out how to build a team around a franchise player means nothing if you take away that franchise player. Oilers...forever tainted.

It would be hilarious to see the Canucks in the playoffs. It's working, Jim! It's working!!

Canucks have 5 wins since Jan 26th. 2 of those in the last two days.
