According to the law, but not "society".
A woman in her 40's having sex with a series of 18-year-old boys may not be committing a crime, but it wouldn't be considered "normal" or "all good" for anyone involved. She would (rightfully so) be ridiculed, ostracized, fired, et cetera. It's still creepy one second after their birthday.
I'm on the dark side of 40. If I was messing with 18-year-olds, I'd be considered a total creep, for good reason.

Wait, hold on. You forgot about money and fame.
As long as you are rich, it is totally acceptable. Or famous.
And if you're both, then you could even cheat on your wife and bang your own teenage step daughter that you raised with said wife and still win an oscar after, despite lots of suspicions that you're a ####ing dirty pedophile.
Hmm. Not sure why, but I have the urge to watch Midnight in Paris again. What a great movie that was.

Ah, the life of a pop star in the 60s and 70s. Especially that shining era around '73 when it was considered de rigueur to bed 13 and 14 year olds and keep them confined as sex slaves. And 40 years later your Jimmy Pages, Bill Wymans, and David Bowies were revered as scions of the entertainment world. All is forgiven if you make great music while slaking your appetites on any drugged out pubescent girl who drifts into your orbit.

What good reason? Is consensual sex between legally consenting adults hurting people? Is it anyone else's business?

I believe these football players were likely in the range of 16-17 years old for the charges she's getting. If they were 18 when it happened this wouldn't be news.

Huh. Well I didn't think I'd have to explain why a 45-year-old person having sex with a teenager is creepy. It just is, to any normal person, for obvious reasons.
Even if it's legal, and even if it's nobody else's business. Although I would think the family of an 18-year-old mixed up in such a 'relationship' would consider it their business.

Unless you're Jaromir Jagr. Then 19 year olds are fair game.

I wonder how many single men in their 40s would turn down sex with an above average looking 18/19 yo if rougeunderoos wasn't around to judge them for it?

I would and I'm not even single, I'm sure my wife would understand.

And until 2008, 14 was legal with consent. Society does sometimes change for the better. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/canada...years-1.754941

I think it's a little awkward if a 45 year old and 18 year old are in a relationship. At the end of the day it's legal and sex is just an act so to if the two parties are consenting then who am I to judge either side? I'm sure I'm not the only person to have one night stands in their lifetimes so I don't think age really matters for random encounters as long as both parties are legal age and consenting.

I don't really care that much if someone wants to rob the cradle legally, but if a single guy in his 40's is strictly looking for sex, then he'd be better off courting above average looking women in their early 30's they are much better at it than the 18/19 year olds.

Maybe the 40 yr olds that answered yes were 18/19 yr old sexually frustrated, socially inept people.
