Here is the MMR success rates in case you were curious.

The incubation period for Mumps is 14-25 days, typically around 17 days is the average. Meaning you can contract it and not show symptoms for about 2 weeks.

The Flames played Vancouver 12 days ago.

Wasn't Granlund showing symptoms of it when the sharks were in town against the nucks? Then I saw he played the last game against the Wings. Maybe similar with Mony?

Aren't professional athletes supposedly the strongest people around health wise? Why am I always hear things like mumps and flu outbreak?

Larf.

Because some diseases are incredibly infectious no matter how healthy you are? This is why we vaccinate for these diseases. History taught us which ones we were incredibly susceptible to.

And also, when you are performing a physical job at the level these guys are, getting a 10% reduction from your top form is a huge deal. Most days I could operate at 60% in my job and get by without anybody noticing I was off.

I'm sure Mark Spector will get to the bottom of this Monahan fiasco.

Yup, it'll be Hep-C, tuberculosis or aids if he misses a game.

And also, when you nail copious amounts of puck bunnies, getting the mumps is like a temporary vasectomy.

Because once a single player gets an infectious disease, the daily close proximity makes spreading the disease easier, especially on road trips. There is also locker rooms, water bottles, etc., that make transmission easier. That is why you see entire teams at a time battling stuff like mumps and flues. I am assuming there are poor hygiene practices as well - I remember the last go-round of mumps, teams started marking water bottles for individual players, etc.

Also, athletes are not super heroes

Mark Spector won't touch the Flames during a win streak. I think he needs at least two losses to start paying attention, and three to start his idea generation phase.

5 wins in a row? He's avoiding the team altogether.

The Flames are 7-1-1 since Spector went full Oiler with that Gaudreau story.

You never go full Oiler.
