This is a terrible draft, and the "consensus rankings" will mean very little when they get to the 50s +. Just another reason why that 2nd is even more of a crapshoot.
On the reverse, we're talking about a known commodity who they've scouted at the NHL level for some time.
You can not like it all you want. It's the flawed, hyperbolic reasoning and the incessant going on and on about it that the typical Polak negative nonsense.

Yeah they're flawless.

As others have mentioned, clearly the Flames have players on their roster which were drafted outside of the top 10 (Backlund, Ferland, Brodie, Gaudreau, Bouma)...

I may be misremembering, but doesn't Vegas have the option to negotiate with free agents before July 1st, and any signings they make before then count as their expansion draft selection for the team losing that UFA?
Maybe I'm just making things up, but that was my understanding.

These guys say "hi". So does Lance, and also a few guys no longer on the team.

odds favor the Flames there is no debate
maybe the Sens hit a homerun, very unlikely

Would you have traded Rasmus Andersson for Lazar?

I must have missed the part where Treliving took on the position of head of scouting.
Keep reaching bro.

You're 100% correct. There's probably a deadline where any UFAs they sign before the expansion draft will count towards the selection of that team.

Listen to the FAN 960 interview that Pat and Rob just did with Lazar. What a well spoken guy. Really impressed.

It's already been said here, but his interview on the Fan960 right now is phenomenal. He is such a well spoken individual, and doesn't at all sound like a 22 year old, more like a well rounded vet.
Not only is he honest with his assessment of himself, he sounds absolutely thrilled to be with the Flames
I do have quite a bit of optimism with this.

Nope, but I'd trade Hunter Smith, Tyler Wotherspoon or Mason MacDonald.

Put him and Conroy in a room together and you'd never get in a word edgewise.

You're right. Although I think, in regards to Engellend, McPhee would be better suited to trade Future Considerations (AKA trade me Engellend and I'll give you an "extra" protection slot) for his rights once the Flames season is over. They should try to get Engellend early... I think he could be an asset to them in free agency selling other vets on the benefits of actually living in Vegas.

Just heard the Fan960 interview with Lazar. Sounds like a great kid and he's clearly excited to be coming to Calgary. Hopefully he can be successful here.

I remember when Lazar played with the Sens and thinking that he would be great to have our on our team.
Listening to him speak, he sounds like a character guy. He may never work out, but nice to have well spoken kids on the team.

Can't really pick at Treliving picks when the earliest you can evaluate his management is the 2015 draft. He was hired in the end of April 2014 so any scouting work would have been largely done already.

Not sure possession is fair either to be honest
His over 50 minute combinations. Has only played on a line with top six players for a 83 minute stint in 2014-15
The rest is bottom six fodder for the most part.
Did he go down in possession for sure, but then he's played with Neil and Kelly this year.

Would Rasmus Andersson still be on the board in the second round against this year's draft class?
