Would not be surprised if LA knocks out Edmonton.

I would be very surprised if Edmonton doesn't finally make the dance this year. They have to go full oilers to miss the playoffs.

I don't see it happening either but if any team has the ability to go full Oiler, it's the actual Oilers.

Unless McDavid breaks an important bone the Oilers will make the playoffs this year.

With regards to the Kings, I don't think they make it this year. If Iggy can't come here then really I only want to see him on a team that's heavily favored to win the Cup (or Montreal because there is always a chance that Price will get hot and let them punch way above their weight).

That is what this day has come to - announcing non-trades!

I feel like activity will step up after waiver results are announced.

Talbot would be the bigger worry.

They can scrap their way in without McDavid, but if they lose Talbot and have to play Broissoit/Gustavsson over the last 20 games

Not getting a veteran backup would be a big mistake for them IMO.

Kind of surprising he doesn't want to go on a playoff run. I know he only wanted to play for West Coast teams long term because of his wife, but you'd think three months and a shot at putting his name on the big prize would be something he'd be interested in.

Really cheap for Florida. 3rd-rounder the return.

Lowers the price for Vrbata.

OP updated.

Wow... if that's all it cost for Vanek, any playoff bound team should have paid it.

I think Sharp probably makes the most sense at this point. Play with Bennett and Brouwer. Swap in and out Bouma and Versteeg depending on who is playing better at the time on the bottom pair (unless there's an injury somewhere else on the wing). Or move Versteeg to the RW and take Chiasson out.

Concerns around Sharpe's health making a trade difficult.
