Jokipakka has no excuse for being on waivers, but that doesn't mean he can't find a great fit somewhere else where they won't force him to play with a player he can't co-exist with or too high up the lineup.

Yup, Engelland can be decent when he's paired with a puck mover. He's decent enough defensively when the puck is in his own end, but he spends so much time there because he's nearly incapable of clearing the puck with possession. Jokipakka also struggles to get clean exits, so they don't work together. Kulak-Engelland will be a great pair once Bartkowksi's badness becomes evident sometime in the next few weeks.
It's too bad about Kevin but he just doesn't really have a spot on the Flames right now. Hopefully he clears so that the Flames have one more guy before Wideman on the depth chart in case of injuries, but I'm not optimistic. I can't see him getting past Winnipeg, and he might not even get to them.

at the time he was correct...and the Stars did almost make it to the WCF while the Flames drafted 6th overall

I'll miss Kevin. Mostly because I liked calling him Kevin.
He still has skill, I hope he clears and takes the time to figure his game out and makes it back to the bigs.

If he clears, I expect him to be brought back up when rosters are allowed to expand.

Yeah, you dont add the players we added on the back end if you're happy with it. Kevin was obviously found wanting.

Good reinforcement for Stockton and good backup for the playoff push maybe.
His passing through waivers also maybe makes him tradeable in the next little bit here.
