Happy with the return
Basically buying lottery tickets with this and burrows trade, just hope one cashes in
Adding these two to boeser and Gaudette plus whomever they take in the top 5 gives them some nice forward prospect depth for the first time since the sedins were 18

Hansen perfect fit with sharks too
Their top 9 is so interchangable he can fit on any line and he should produce, will help a ton on the pk as well

Maybe a bidding war?
Farhan Lalji @FarhanLaljiTSN
20 teams called Benning to see if they were on hansen's list.

The Sharks sure like gambling with their firsts! I like it!
First with the Jones trade and now this.

Goldobin was the sharks #1 prospect, but about 5 guys passed him by. He got a good look last year, but only one or two games this year. I have a feeling the sharks don't think he'll ever be an nhl grade two way forward. He has looked very lost on defense in some of his games in the big league.

He should fit right in with the Canucks organization then. They're awesome at developing their prospects (see: Jake Virtanen).

not really. they've been building from the net out.
GK: Markstrom,Demko,Gartieg
D: Joulevi,Stetcher,Hutton,Tryamkin,Subban,Brisebois
F: Boeser,Godolbin,Dahlen,Gaudette,Mckenzie,Patrick?/Hischier?
a young foundation of Tanev,Horvat,Granlund,Beartschi,Gudbranson
the Canucks need to win the lottery or the very least top 3 pick.

It is cute that you think this list is impressive.

It's a step in the right direction. Still lots of work to do though.
Also add Lockwood, Zhukenov, Olsen, Jasek, Neill and McKenzie.
Of course those guys are longshots, but they doing good with respective clubs now.

Vancouver is doing what Calgary was doing, and a few other clubs - adding depth prospects while 'not rebuilding'. There certainly is decent depth there now, even with the guys playing on the team.
This year with the selling, it seems as if they are more in the 'full rebuild' mode (though I guess the Sedins are going to go along for the ride). If they manage to get top-line quality prospects soon (Dahlen is close, and Goldobin is a fairly good prospect IMO) in this draft or the next - while not whiffing like Virtanen (and in my opinion - Juolevi) they won't go through the hell of what Edmonton did.
It is kind of like how I argued a few years ago that the rebuild had sort of started in Feaster's first year. He stopped trading higher picks and started to accumulate a bit younger players. Stuff like that help set the stage for a better experience in the rebuild as you have guys with legs and experience to help out the youth.

Twice as many professional hockey goals as little Hunter has this year. That was a pretty bad trade for the Flames.

Having a pick potentially go from 4th to 1st round is a nice way to give your fans something to cheer for in the playoffs. And who doesn't like San Jose a little anyway.
Kind of sucks, since Sharks are a team I wouldn't have minded win it all outside of Flames.

@CurtisPashelka:
I know some folks in Vancouver are loving this move. Goldobin may turn out to be a star w/Canucks. Just wasn't going to be a fit in SJ
Just wasn't working under DeBoer. He likes his wingers to forecheck, do some dirty work. Goldobin just not that guy.

Okay, who gave Benning a brain transplant?

A good risk for the Canucks to take on Goldobin. This and Dahlen really adds to their forward prospect pool. It will inevitably give their fans enough hope next year that they will be crushed when they suck again. So we have that to look forward to.
Really surprised there's no "50% of the playoff games played" stipulation in that condition. He could play 0 playoff games and if the Sharks win the cup, it turns into a first? Seems odd.
