Not as simplistic as that, it might just change their willingness to play around with the bonus overage risk tomorrow if their lead is not as sizeable. If they fail to get up for tonight's game maybe that's the final opportunity to look at them as noise makers

Maybe if they lose tonight they decide to look at more longer term options.

Have we figured out if Gillies is under automatic protection or is there still some up in the air=ness about that.

Even if Gillies' first season counts (which it is unclear exactly if it does or not) he only will have 2 pro seasons and therefore is exempt from the expansion draft.
