Brian Lawton just said on Sportsnet that after talking to Ryan Miller's camp it's unlikely he would waive his NTC to go to the Oilers or Flames. But I wasn't expecting him to anyway so it's not surprising.

I'd take Vanek in a second if the salary would work.

I imagine the Wings want a first rounder though and I don't think we should give that up being a bubble team.

Why add a 1st and a 2nd? add a 3rd, remove the 4th from Avs.

Insider trading Canadian teams focus:
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/insider-...-teams~1067474

Montreal:
Bergevin will keep trying until 11th hour
tried on Hanzal and Boyle (even offered a 2nd for Boyle)
checked in on Alex Burrows
checked in on Hansen but Montreal isn't on his approved trade list

Ottawa:
deal on the table for Lazar is 2nd round draft pick - but that isn't good enough for senators
if Sens move Lazar it will need to be for a better draft pick or top prospect

Leafs:
may use cap muscle because of all the guys they have on LTIR ~$13 million in cap space
so have capability to take a big contract if it gives them a premium asset

Flames:
they don't want to be done...
Vrbata is a player of interest but looking at other forwards as well
LeBrun doesn't think they will make a move on goaltending but something to keep an eye on
Also maybe looking to make a move on defence
Flames could be a team that does a couple of things before the draft and tonight's game might influence that

Jets:
interest in drew stafford - will be traded tonight or tomorrow
wants a defenceman - expressed interest in Quincey but doesn't seem to be a fit there
maybe some minor moves besides stafford

Oilers:
eyeing a veteran backup - hearing Halak, Neuvirth
would really like to get a 3rd line center to allow them to move Draisaitl to McDavid's wing

Correct me if im wrong, Drasaitl currently plays the majority of the time on Mcdavids wing

I'd be interested in Lazar but they only get a draft pick or a top prospect, not both.

Lazar has a single point in 33 games and needs to be protected in the expansion draft. Asking for a 1st is pretty hilarious

Yeah I am not sure I buy that there is a 2nd round pick on the table for Lazar. Sounds like something Ottawa is leaking just to try and up the offers on him.

I was referring to 2017 which we don't have a 3rd rounder.

Stafford's on the block. Flames need a RW. Crazy to consider as a rental?

Yeah. Anyone thinking about giving up a 1st for Lazar has to be on hard drugs. Even a 2nd for Lazar seems too much for that matter given how terrible he is.

And yeah, yeah, I get the change of scenery thing can do wonders angle, but I don't buy that with Lazar. I don't think highly of Lazar's skills and don't believe a new address will do much to help him out.

Pass, we already have a Stafford. We just call him Brouwer.

Big pass on Lazar, there's a reason he's the odd man out.

If Ottawa really wants to make a move (and keep Lazar) target another Stone

A 2nd would be a homerun like Calgary with Baertschi.

David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod

Sounds like the Dallas Stars are finalizing a trade for Johnny Oduya

@MarkLazerus
A Johnny Oduya trade is definitely happening, likely in the next half hour or so. Still not confirmed it's to the #Blackhawks
