Nobody is comparing Bollig to Vrbata.
The question was who would you rather have, Sharp or Vrbata, and I said Sharp was a Stanley Cup winner.

Any strong team he would waive for, so add Minny, Chicago, Wsh & Pit too. It's is his last chance (hinting at calling this the end) so he wants to throw his last cup dart at the right team.

Reason: forgot minny and chi

Sounds like Sharp is off the market. I have a feeling Arizona is going to be stacking up picks for this draft.

And I believe his point was that it was similar to saying:
"What would you rather eat, an orange or a banana?"
"Bananas are yellow."
As in, who won a cup is not relevant to who we should acquire. Winning a cup is nice, but not indicative of quality.

In what world can Iggy play a 4th line role? He's slow and old. While playoff Iggy might be willing to hit everything that moves in his mind, he's not fast enough anymore to catch anyone to hit them.

In playoffs the rules changes, especially for old vets! He can just hold and grab them to his hearts content!

GOAT!

Iggy = lethal one-timer from the slot, with Johnny feeding him all day long and Monny in front of the net to clean it all up. On the other side of the puck, it's Iggy beating the snot out of anyone that even looks at Johnny in the wrong way.
Anyone who doesn't drool at the thought of that just needs to imagine it harder.

You see this is an absolute ridiculous response that I like to call an HF special.
So I said let's trade 2 of our 4th liners for 2 guys that are 40+ and having awful years and you are comparing trading a bust prospect for the best player in the game.
This happens on HF all the time. (Hypothetical example)
"I propose moving Sam Bennett for Sam Reinhart"
Response:
"oh yeah well I propose Moulson for Gaudreau pretty much the same value as OP"

I'm sure Avs fans were drooling at that thought when Iggy played with Mackinnon and Landeskog just to be handed a reality check that Iggy is not what he was a few years ago.

That would be slowest 4th line in the history of hockey.

I think Iggy would play either on the first line RW with Gaudreau and Monahan or on the RW with Versteeg and Bennett. Ferland and Brouwer would move into the "4th line" as they can actually play those roles well.
I think Iggy would work well with both of those lines. Gaudreau obviously for the playmaking, but Versteeg and Bennett are pretty decent playmakers who cycle the puck well along the boards. Iggy could just find open space around the net for his one timer.
Plus, he would beat the crap out of anyone who takes a run at Gaudreau. That could be worth it alone. I really don't think it is a coincidence that Gaudreau is producing and playing better now that a tough bugger like Ferland is on the ice with him. It would be the same with Iggy.

You mean last year when he scored 20+ goals and nearly 50pts?
The entire Avs team is historically bad you don't think the new coach has anything to do with that?

When you make HF caliber trade proposals, you'll get HF responses.
At least put some effort into a justifiable trade for both parties.

Do people not know that Vrbata has 46 points in 61 games this year on a horrible Coyotes team?
Go get him, Brad.

I'd rather Brett Hull, he had a pretty lethal one-timer.

Oh yeah, scoring at a similar pace to the pace he'd set in 4 of the 5 seasons prior.
What a reality check they got.

I'm with you here – you've gotta take a pinch of salt with any stats this season from Avalanche players. They're all having abysmal outlier years.

More or less 2 organizations sending old respectable men layers to the destination of their choice. Don't hear a ton about Iginla that's for sure and his trade hopes have been public for months. Doan admittedly I have no idea where he wants to go or how much he would cost. A poster mentioned bringing both in so I suggested swapping our 4th line wingers for them as they would be 4th line wingers.
When you make the comparison of those trades to moving Poirer for Crosby I question how much youmeother value these 40 year olds?
In what world is Chaisson for Iginla comparably bad to Poitier for Crosby? Replies like that are over the top imo
