Not shocking. Bad season for him

Anyone remember the few posters that wanted us to protect Kevin over Gio after the first couple games this year?

Guess they couldn't find a taker in trade and want to open up some space on the roster.

I had no idea M-A Bergeron was still playing hockey though - crazy.

I remember when a large portion thought he would be our expansion casualty.

MAB is still in the league?

Edit: oh, he just signed. That's strange

This likely means a trade will happen before the deadline. I like it.

What makes me sad about this is it leaves Wideman as the #7

That's too bad he didn't pan out. He's got some good tools to be a bottom or middle pair d-man in the league.

It's always impossible to tell how a guy will progress and develop. All the best to one of the best names in hockey.

With the trade of Brendan Smith to NY, wouldn't be surprised to see Kevin get picked up by Detroit.

Flames can get some cap space back by putting Jokipakka in the AHL.

I could be wrong, but I believe players need to be put on waivers today in order to be sent to the AHL this year, otherwise they are up for the year

If fairness, Gio was absolutely horrible the first couple games. His contract was looking like a set of cement shoes.

This move is pretty much dictated by the guy that manages the Flames salary cap numbers.

Probably the equivalent of going through your couches looking for change.
