The GOP is really showing off how well they spin things today. There is no question they're winning this battle against the press when it comes to Russia and healthcare. It's really impressive.

Spicer tried to involve the CIA and FBI director to shoot the investigations down and both of them refused.
What is interesting is the level of spin Spicer is trying to push through, when asked about a special prosecutor
Quote:
"What about a Special Prosecutor?" Spicer: "And I guess my answer would be, a special prosecutor for what? We've seen no evidence. What are you investigating?"
"Are you going to categorically deny there were no contacts with Russia during the campaign?" Spicer: "Oh, I'm not going to deny that.

Wtf? White House Chief of Staff Priebus was the one that initiated this whole mess. He directed Spicer to contact the House Intelligence Chair Devin Nunes to lie to media by telling them the Flynn leaks were an "Illegal Wiretap", which he did and is known to be false. Nunes has since called the Russia-Trump investigation a witchhunt. Since the House Intelligence Chair is also charged with investigating the Trump-Russia links, and given Nunes's statements, it's clear that the House cannot and will not be conducting an objective and investigation.
Spicer/Priebus contacting both the FBI/CIA/House Intelligence Chairs on an on-going investigation into the WH are also bordering on obstruction of justice.

"Win. We have to win. We have to start winning wars again," Trump said. "I have to say, when I was young, in high school and college, everybody used to say that we never lost a war. 'We never lost a war.' You remember."
"And now we never win a war," Trump added. "We never win. And we don't fight to win."
President Trump attended a military academy, but never served in the armed forces. He received a total of five draft deferments in the Vietnam War, including one for bone spurs in his heels

Pining for President Bush seems like the most unimaginable idea only a short time ago.

Oh my God, it was so, so much better. Seriously, there is no worse. This is the first time that it's just not debatable, not down to ideology. Ted Cruz would have been better.

There's clearly a difference in Bush and Trump. Bush is the President for the Republican neo-conservative establishment, meaning short sighted policy intended to stifle social progress and cater to the wealthy. Trump is the President for those that want to destroy the establishment. Neither are ideal but at least we knew what Bush's ultimate goals were.

You realize Trump and company badly want to invade Iran right? Give it time, it'll happen.

Short of annihilation, the U.S. could not defeat Iran in a conventional war. Iran also enjoys a somewhat strange-bedfellow friend in China.
Attacking Iran would be the end of America as we know it. I just hope if or when it happens, Canada isn't stupid enough to join.

What? In a conventional war? The US would run over Iran in a few days.

Are you talking conventional or unconventional?
Because in a conventional war, Iran wouldn't last long, and I doubt that China would jump in against America on Iran's behalf.
Unconventional . . possibly, but we don't know how this president is going to fight an unconventional war at all.
