Johnson wasn't too bad against Florida either.
It's almost as if improved defense helps goaltending

Elliot really not getting enough credit . He really really stood out . After that first goal he looked like he was pretty unhappy about getting screened and then wow the team stepped up and allowed what 3 shots in the 2nd?
Great team effort before we play the kings.
Kings played really gritty against the ducks and physically dominated . Calgary needs to be outstanding and stick together as a team in the scrums and not back down from the kings like the ducks did.

Just watching the highlights now, missed the entire game. Ferland didn't but I hope he gets an assists added to the first Gaudreau goal. Great job with a smart backcheck, steals the puck and chips it up the ice to Johnny who eventually scores. Gaudreau lost posession a couple times so no assists to Ferland but the goal doesn't happen without him.

The entitlement and delusion is still unrivaled.
But at least some were giving credit, and it wasn't backhanded, and that's more shocking than anything tbh. Maybe being firmly in a playoff position for the first time in an eon has calmed them down enough that not everything they spew needs to be pure hatred.

Yeah, Carolina never had control at any point after Gaudreau got it. I've seen assists awarded on plays that were a lot more questionable than giving Ferland one there would be.

I used to hate afternoon games but now I get to watch them with my 2 year old son. 7 pm games are too late so this was his first real game - love afternoon games now!

Oh definitely. The way the NHL has worked this year the stat line will eventually read
Goal - Johnny Gaudreau (12) (assists to Michael Ferland and Conor McDavid)

I've certainly poked fun at Gulutzan at times this year, but his system is getting the job done for sure. This is way better than Hartley hockey, it took time for the players to settle into it, but they're showing some more consistent results finally.

GG's system is more a more sustainable way of having success.
A couple adjustments by the opposition would render Hartley's system useless.
I still think GG is a poor motivator, however. I think the players are getting themselves up for the games, being that it's now the stretch run and with the acquisition of Stone (and subtraction of Wideman) which is a vote of confidence from the GM.

GG's system working is the reason why all of us are on the forum and not working for a team. I was very convinced that GG was in over his head. He now looks good.
It's good to be humbled when the Flames are on the winning side of it.

Quoted for truth. This team is playing like a team that knows that their goalie is going to battle for them. At the start of the season I just could not understand what Elliott did well. Now I am starting to believe, he looks like he could drag this team on a run. He seems to play better as the pressure amps up. He should be fresh for a run as well.
Oh and Nashville scores! I smell a oilers collapse in the next twenty games.
