He was great at it because he didn't try to do it every time he had the puck.
These days, all he does is try and dangle. He used to carve teams with his brain, and he's gotten away from that. He'll be fine.

I think it's more of NHL level defensemen giving him proper respect. You don't see many forwards, even elite ones like Kane win 1v1s. Not to mention Faulk is a pretty good defenseman himself.

I thought Gaudreau played great that period, why is anyone dumping on him? Because he didn't deke their best defenseman? Seems petty to me.

I think you're mistaking his dekeing during rushes with 1-on-1 dekeing. It's not often anyone beats a top pairing NHL defenseman head on, Gaudreau included

First line getting chances, 3M line looking good, 4th line also looking great the way they battle. That 3rd line still needs fixing somehow. You'd think Versteeg/Bennett/Brouwer would provide a little more offense but its just not happening.

He had a few bad giveaways where bobbled the puck.
Monahan and Ferland have been great though.

He just came off a SHUT OUT of the Ottawa Senators.
Actually, he has really good numbers against the Flames, including their win against us earlier this year.

I like Stajan but the Flames would benefit greatly by having a tougher 4th line C who was great at face offs.
