It could happen, but the Kings of this year are not the Kings of past glory. I bet the Wild beat them easily because they're just a much better team than the Kings and on the second half of the back to back, the Flames come through with a dominating win closing Kings' playoff chances further.

Any notion that the Kings are toast is laughable. After coming here Tuesday, they will play their next 7 at home, starting with the Leafs and Canucks.
If we don't beat them Tuesday, we'll be looking up at them in the standings in no time.

It should be a plane, such a pointless reason to take away a goal.

Bah, 4-1.
Looks like the Preds will jump into the 3rd Central spot and St Louis takes over the 2nd Wild Card.

The Preds game has no impact on the Flames at all. St Louis had a virtually identical record, and now they slide into 8th.
The NSH / STL situation is interesting. Whichever of the teams does best gets 3rd, and the loser is up against the Flames and Kings for the final two spots.
The good news being that it is whichever one that is doing worse is the one relevant to the Flames.
Lots of dynamics yet.

Any point the Blues, Kings, and Preds accumulate down the stretch impacts the Flames. Them beating the Capitals is worst case scenario as that's a game on the calendar you would look at as a very losable game for them.

The BJs humiliated the Islanders 7-0 and out shot them 45-24.

It's good the Ducks lost. Now we have a greater chance at catching them. If the Flames beat the worst team in the East tomorrow afternoon, they will only be 4 points back of them with the same GP. They lost their starting goalie as well, so they are not in a great spot either. If the Flames can keep racking up points, we could end up facing the Oilers in round 1, which would be a lot more fun and entertaining than playing the Wild or Sharks.

They've recalled Labate (LW), Subban (D), Grenier (RW), and McEneny (D).
