Maloney said in his first interview when he was hired by Calgary that he may eventually get into the amateur side of scouting for the Flames.
Maybe just a meeting between the two to get that set up.

I wouldn't mind Bozak. I agree that Bennett is developing but moving him to the wing for playoffs is probably the smarter move.
Also added bonus of Bozaks contract expiring next year. Would leave room for resigning Backlund

Say no to trades with leafs. Media always overinflates their players.

Leafs need d-men as their top priority. Would likely be after one of Kylington or Andersson from our prospect list.
Obviously we could let them have their choice of Wideman, Kulak, Wotherspoon, Jokkipakka.

I'm just throwing #### at the wall here but perhaps they are looking at a younger player and want Button's input as to how much he has developed since junior?

Or maybe Maloney is in town? Two eyes are always better than one. I don't think just because you're an amateur scout doesn't mean you cant look at pros and make decisions. I would argue scouting amateurs in order to determine if they can be pros means you know your pros. I'm sure some of the best scouts are amateur ones.

Bozak can be the new Stajan when Stajan retires.

Yes you can. It's called Twitter.
This is a forum. The literal point of a forum is to discuss things. If you want strictly NHL news, and you even say you have a Twitter account, go nuts.

It is possible, but Button has said many times that he doesn't really keep track of prospects once they are drafted. Last year he claimed not have watch Jankowski since 2012, it was pretty much left to the development coaches.

I am not sure the Ducks or Kings have something that the Flames can afford to make a trade for. Maybe the scouts are there because we play the Kings very soon??

Which would kind of fit with what I was thinking. Button would more or less be fresh eyes on someone like Nick Ritchie for example, Button seeing him (by seeing I mean actually watching and paying attention to him) and being impressed/disappointed with where his game has come in the last 3 years.

But why would either team want to help us out and vice versa. We are chasing Anaheim in the standings (6 points behind) and LA is chasing us (6 points ahead). Trading with either team makes little to no sense.

If you just want a list of trades as they happen, use this: http://www.tsn.ca/tradecentre/trade-tracker

Yeah but it's the local reporters who also have things too. C'mon, there's no question Sureloss is the best at what he does. The only question is why he does it for free, and get bogged down by CPers clogging his web space
