I typically don't like talking about HF's trade forum, but I was browsing it today and this is especially horrible:

Start with Hamilton and add from there for Kane

Dougie "Freddie" Hamilton? It'll take a lot more to pry Patrick Kane out of Chicago.

If you're worried about drugs, I don't think Evander Kane is going to convince Johnny to do anymore drugs than he wants too.
They're millionaire local celebs in their early 20's. They've all been exposed to the same situations. Some just handle it better than others.

True. I would be more worried about him being hated by his team like he was in Winnipeg though. Divisions in the locker room can be killer to chemistry on the ice.

It's easy enough to go to Frolik and ask what he thinks of Kane. If a good team guy like Frolik is good with Kane, no reason not to think they'd take a shot at him.

Much like how Montreal asked Weber about Radulov.

Ugh. No thanks. That's a trade you make if you are a cup contender with a flush cupboard of prospects.
Max we should be offering for a an upgrade would be 4th rounders or lower and/or expansion eligible prospects like shinkaruk or poirier. If teams aren't interested in these pieces then we roll with what we have.

This is just pure speculation by a blogger:
Mike Colligan@MikeColligan
Based on PIT needs/cap situation, 2 options come to mind for Fleury trade. Both could be done creatively w/o PIT maxing out LTIR flexibility
Mike Colligan@MikeColligan
First would be Fleury to CGY for Dennis Wideman (5.25M UFA) and one of their goalies — Brian Elliott (2.5M UFA) or Chad Johnson (1.7M UFA).
Mike Colligan@MikeColligan
Other option is Fleury to DAL for Oduya (3.75M UFA) and Niemi (4.5M 1 yr left). Oduya coming off ankle injury, could return Sun vs Boston.
Mike Colligan@MikeColligan
DAL would likely need to retain 50% on Niemi to make it digestible. PIT could then buyout Niemi (after expansion) for minimal cap hit.

Makes zero sense from a Flames perspective. They've done the dirty deed on Wideman's contract for five years now and it's almost over. No need to flip him and Johnson for two more years of a 5.75 contract.
Only way it makes sense is if a couple prime draft picks come back to offset the remaining years or if the Flames ship expensive 4th liners like Stajan or Bouma out as well. Even then Stajan won't be going anywhere before a playoff push.
As an aside.. as Derrick Pouliot totally busted in Pittsburg? 23 years old, waiver eligible next season, maybe the Penguins are done, former 8th overall pick. Calgary has plenty of D prospects to give icetime to in the minors but wouldn't mind him cheap as a reclamation prospect. Thought I haven't been following his development at all.
