Agreed. He was involved all night and was very strong defensively. If he had buried that breakaway his night would have been complete.
I thought Chiasson had a good game on the 4th line as well.
I'm hoping we get more out of Versteeg and Brouwer down the stretch.

The Flames are 6th in points percentage since November 16th and are much closer to 3rd than to 8th over that time span.
This is absolutely a playoff team and not just first-round fodder.

No one was more upset by the the lack of finish on that great chance in tight by Bennett than Bennett himself. He will learn from this, and seems to be handling things well.
Going into the Panthers barn tomorrow maybe will resurrect a multi-goal night for Sam.

Best thing about that is on the same shift he turned around and hustled down the ice to make a great defensive play. Ya gotta love that.

Boston just scored as well That Marchand line is pretty good. Dominates play like the 3M line

I'd be a really happy Flames fan.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Ferland
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Versteeg - Bennett - Iginla
Bouma - Stajan - Brouwer
xHamilton, Hathaway, Chiasson
That's a lot of depth and guy's who can jump up and down the lineup.

Interesting tidbit on Elliott - he is 7-2-1 lifetime vs the Bolts. He seems to have their number.

Great win! Hopefully this keeps on going. Dougie was fantastic tonight and seems to get better every game. Gaudreau and Monahan are starting the heat up and the 3M line remains consistent.

The Kings have been hot garbage lately too. Looks like the Flames are going to take the last spot.
How do they match up versus the Sharks?

Not likely to meet San Jose unless they climb past the Preds. Eighth place spells a date with the Wild as it's looking now.

I understand that bringing back Iginla doesn't make a whole lotta sense hockey wise but every single one of us would get the chills if #12 stopped on the ice at the Saddledome. Even the people here that are dead set against it would not be able to help themselves, they would love it.
It's silly and I don't care. I would love to bring Iggy back for a playoff run. Maybe he could rekindle some of that '04 magic and help us shock the hockey world again?

The risk though is he's too slow and doesn't play. And if he's upset about that that causes a distraction when the flames don't want one

Iginla would have to take the role Lanny did during our cup run. Sometimes sitting, sometimes playing.
