I had to look it up, but apparently it's because they are all around the same height 5'10"ish smallish. Stupid name IMO.

Update: I guess the coach called them that and it stuck.

Poor Bennett - but look at that shift. Snake bitten, but hauls ass back and makes a great defensive play. That's the development of a 200 foot game.
