Bouma is one of those guys that a lot of us thought would/could be a key part of the team moving forward but it seems that as soon as he got his last contract he stopped being the player who earned that contract. I hope he's traded or is taken in the expansion draft.

I just wonder if he has any trade value at this point

The Bouma everyone loved was the shot blocking, fearless, energy player that would pot in 10-15 goals. You win with players like Bouma 2014-2015.

Players that produce like Bouma 2015-current are a dime a dozen waiver fodder. Unfortunately, it was a gamble that never paid off for Treliving as he was expecting 2014-2015 Bouma and that isn't what we are getting.

Bouma 2014-2015
16-18-34 in 78 games

since
5-7-13 in 84 games

Injuries pretty much wrecked Bouma.

I don't hold any ill-will towards him for not living up to the contract. It's just too bad that he got thrown off course.

Everyone knew the moment Bouma signed that he wasn't going to live up to that contract.

He got the Backlund bump and was a fan favorite. I hold no ill will towards him for being the same player today as he was before getting put on Backlund's line. Treliving should have negotiated a little harder on this one.

Thankfully, I believe the Bouma contract is the reason why the Flames don't have a toxic Colborne contract right now. The small mistake definitely prevented a larger one imo.

I am not a fan of Kane at all... strikes me as an immature, selfish "me first" kind of player... while he's played better of late, who's to say that this isn't just a blip...

Huge pass for me, especially considering the cost of acquisition, will be quite high.

The guy had 26 points in over 90 AHL games. No way was he going to repeat 14/15 injuries or not.

Don't fall in love with role players. They are easily replaced.

True, but he also plays more tentatively than he did in 14/15.

I don't think anyone was predicting that same level of production, but injuries changed the way he plays the game.

His arbitration rights were definitely a factor.

Yeah but he was a useful heart and soul player in the mold of Brandon Prust even if he could never maintain that scoring clip. Problem is that guys that put everything on the line all the time have short shelf lives due to the toll it takes on their bodies. When they are unable to go all out consistently their effectiveness is greatly reduced.

How awesome would it be to somehow to bring Jagr here for a playoff push. Veteran with leadership and experience, also can still score. Bouma and a 4th.

Why would Florida move him when he is playing top line and they are in the playoff mix?

I could see Florida trading Bjugstad. He is having a terrible year- lost his #3C spot on the team and now plays RW full time. He's had some injury troubles the last couple of seasons but scored 24 goals two years ago. Could be a buy low scenario.

Well, the Bruin brass are morons, so there is hope!

Insider trading:
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/insider-...rental~1064355

Shattenkirk likely only to be traded as a rental not a sign and trade
Armstrong wants a 1st, top prospect, plus something else
On 3 occasions - Edmonton last summer, a team in November, and another team last month - there have been deals consumated by the Blues on Shattenkirk conditional on him agreeing to signing an extension. In each of those situations no agreement with Shattenkrik was reached
The team last month offered 7 years, $42 million

Leafs, Bruins, Lightning, Rangers are among teams that expressed interest in Shattenkirk

Coyotes would like to move Hanzal by the end of the week
Interest in Hanzal coming mostly from western conference teams, but that does not rule out montreal

10-12 teams interested in Patrick Eaves and some belief that he will be traded well before the deadline

Canucks want a young player or top prospect for Hansen rather than a draft pick
Some level of interest by the wild, but the Wild may just be happy to get a bottom 6 player at the deadline

Panthers seeking top 9 rental forward

More than one team has engaged Gallant for coaching positions

Chicago in the market for a depth forward if he has a low cap hit and can be had for just a draft pick

7 years at 6 is pretty fair value, obviously Shattenkirk doesn't want to resign in St.Louis and he is having a pretty decent year. Tough situation for the Blues. A top prospect for Hansen, I lol'd at that. Won't be traded if that's the ask.

Unlikely to be moved so soon, Chiasson is somebody I'm sure most people wouldn't say no to being moved to Chicago for a 5th.
