Gaudreau's 4 point night could go a long way into giving him confidence and igniting a point scoring tear. He won't score points in every game but he will probably put up better than a point per game from here on out.

Saros is auto-protected because he is only in his second professional season, similar to Gillies.

Love watching Bennett kick the tar out of the whining gorilla from north van.
That was such an ass beating. Johansen had no idea what he'd gotten himself into.

Bennett looked like a bulldog there, no fear.
Yeah, we may have blown the 2nd period, but I'll take a game like that every night please. Just great hockey.

At the end of AC's clip it looks like Steeger is giving Bennett props too. I think that scrap could do as much for Sam's confidence as a goal at this point.

Is it surprising that both Ferland goals came off the rush? He actually has the wheels to keep up with Gaudreau, which has the potential to make that line a lot more dynamic than what it's been.

I honestly don't care if Bennett never scores another goal ever again, as long as he continues to bring sandpaper every game he's finee.
Good on him for losing it a little bit and taking matters into his own hands. He's gotta be hugely frustrated with his lack of production right now, best thing for him is to go out and contribute any way he can.
I still wish he was on the wing though, he just doesn't have the same kind of leash to hulk out at centre than he does on the wing. Get him on the wing to start crashing and banging.

Bennett's fight was great to see for a lot of reasons.
I have felt that his game has been neutered ever since he had to sit for taking penalties. And not playing as aggressively and physically has reduced his effectiveness offensively as well.
The only good news for him so far this season is that his defensive play has been steadily improving. But maybe that fight brings his mojo back and gets him going.
If the Flames get Gaudreau and Bennett both playing to the level they are capable of, they make the playoffs without question.

After taking an stick to the mouth last night, Sam Bennett got a root canal & 10 stitches. He says he's ready for tomorrow's game!

Bennett has definitely turned a corner as far as play away from the puck is concerned. I think it's fair to argue that he's beginning to turn the corner with the puck as well. The other game he actually got used in OT and managed to draw a penalty (...which the Flames proceeded to not score on), but it's one of the many indicators that he's simplifying his game and getting back to driving the net. His screen on the Brodie goal from a few nights back was also nothing short of perfect.
If Ferland and Bennett can continue to simplify their games by getting themselves and pucks to the net, I like this team's chances going down the stretch.

He looks like he still wants a piece of Ryan Johansen.

Could Bennett benefit from some PP time to get him going offensively? Perhaps on the wing with Backlund and Tkachuk on the second unit (instead of Frolik)?

Happened during the PK at the end of the game. He stayed up and in the play until he had a chance to get off. Kid is definitely showing his team mates he's in playoff beast mode. Just fabulous to see.

First post of CP. My takes on the game:
1. Proud of Bennett for sticking up for a teammate.
2. Chaisson wasn't on the top line to kill scoring chances.
3. Was very surprised that Elliott wasn't pulled after the 3rd goal or after the 2nd period.
4. Hugh win in the end.
