Still think bringing back Iggy is a bad idea.
Unless its reverse psychology and it lights a fire under the team to "win it for Iggy as a flame"

What a cool win cup and celebration for that team and those three it would be.

How would Iginla be a good add? His 7 goals would but him 13th on the Flames. His 16 points would put him 13th on the club for points. Exactly what roll would Iginla play for this club? Mascot is already taken.

Really? Be respectful. That's the greatest player in Flames history you're demeaning.

The biggest problem with this team is not scoring, it's not defense, and it's not goaltending. It's how unrelentingly soft they are.
Iggy might be washed up, he might be a negative-impact player but I can't ever see him be soft, especially in a Flames jersey in the playoffs.

For the cost, and the storylines, and the hype it would generate, I think that it would help this team.

Not sure if true but skepticism that wideman can be moved
 Eric Francis @EricFrancis

All you dreamers out there who think the Flames are now poised to trade Wideman, guess again. His contract is immoveable. Has been for yrs.

Wasn't really expecting it, but at least he doesn't have to be on the ice if he is struggling.

he's off the books this summer regardless, so that's all i was expecting

The move would be low cost for one. I feel bringing Iggy back would bring the right emotion to the team and the City. This has been a bizarre season in terms of the vibe around this team. It feels like the sky has been falling through the year but the team has held down a playoff spot for the better part of 3 months. There was a thread where people were stating they are more fair weather fans these days. Iggy would bring a huge buzz to the team and the city. He could provide the emotional jolt the team and the fanbase could use to push to a playoff spot and Flames fever

I have been against bringing Iginla back since he left. That being said, #### it, go for it. Can't break what's broken. Aim for the fences in a ####ty draft year.

The team has limited cap space. Would you rather spend it on Iginla, or on a RW who can still score?

Solution:
> send Wideman ($5M cap hit)
> receive Iginla ($5M cap hit)

Iginla is not coming here unless we go strong up until the deadline and then we might be in a second tier group he would consider. He has serious thoughts about maybe hanging them up after this year and he wants to have a shot at the Cup. There are better choices than the Flames for that.
First choices: Chicago, Minnesota, San Jose, Washington, Pittsburgh, Columbus, NYR
Second choices: Montreal, Edmonton (grosse), Anaheim, Calgary, St. Louis, Ottawa, Nashville, Florida, and possibly LA.
