So by your opinion that was ok, but now since it's the Flames it isn't ok?

We can call it a day for sure, but I doubt you will get any agreement on your trolling point.

Attendance, articles ( look up hockey culture edmonton and calgary), message board activity prove my point. I was simply asking why.

Why don't you provide some of that ample evidence, you are making the claim.

http://www.espn.com/nhl/attendance

Where is your proof?

Edmonton average 98.4
Calgary average 96.5

Why are the oilers not selling out every game?!?

There are more posts in CP's off-topic forum alone than Oilfans' Oilers forum. It's true our fanbase doesn't populate HFboards, which is a cesspool, though.

Do you have any data for us to evaluate this claim? And can you define loyal?

Because I see two issues one is Does spending on a team when they are terrible equal loyalty or stupidity.

And

Does gate ticket sales mean loyalty if there are empty seats and renewals for season tickets are occurring because a new building is coming.

Other items might come into play are the differing nature of their corporate bases and the relative levels of non-Albertans and non-Canadians between the two cities.

I'd argue the core fan bases support their teams roughly equally and certainly within the margin of error of any analysis given the non-controllable demographic factors.

"Arena: 18,347 seats (hockey); 20,147 seats (concerts ) "that's on wiki for Rogers Place.

I've gone through game by game boxscores and not one home game is below 18,347 mark. Unsure why it's not "100" capacity...

And given the game isn't a sellout you shouldn't use percentages you should be using fans in attendance which Calgary is ahead in. If the oilers were at 100% you could argue the building is limiting them but in terms of people through the turnstiles our crappy building is outperforming the Mecca of hockey

This says differently, capacity is 18,641.

I love how after years of being absolutely nowhere and having a fan forum that was an absolute ghost town the last decade. And now after 2/3 of a winning season and probably 5000 2016/2017 registration dates on said forum some "flames fans" have magically come out of the woodwork to applaud the absolute clown show that goes on up North and the magical resurgence of support for them. You haven't even made the playoffs this year. Go #### yourself and come back when your real team has at least accomplished a clinched playoff berth.
