Wonder what the Canucks could get for those 3.

According to a recent game, Gaudreau and Gulutzan sat down and watched all of Johnny's goals.
Also, only a 13 minute video? Amateur!

Uhh ohhh.... prepare to be Flamed cause you think Brodie for Landeskog would be a good trade.
*Warning, dream trade alert*
Gaudreau and Backlund for
Konecny, Schenn, and Ghostesbehere and a 2nd
Then move Brodie, Wotherspoon/Jokipakka and Kylington and a 2nd or Calgary's 1st next year for
Landeskog, Rantanen and Erik Johnson.
Landeskog - Monahan - Schenn
Tkatchuk - Konecny/Bennett - Rantanen/Frolik
Ferland/Rantanen - Konecny/Bennett - Brouwer/Frolik
Klimchuk - F.Hamilton - Hathaway
Stajan
Gio- Hamilton
Ghost- Johnson
Kulak- Engalland
Kylington/Andersson rotate from farm
Bargain bin
Elliot re-sign as B/U
I was board.

I didn't know whether to ask if you said "prepare to be flamed" to yourself as well before constructing that mess, if you actually meant "nightmare" when you said "dream," if you actually can't spell Engelland, Gostisbehere, Elliott, and "bored" (but somehow got Konecny right?), or if you realised you traded away Kylington but then said he was an option to rotate in from the farm.
So I decided to ask none of the above.

So 2nd year slumps are allowed, but 3rd year slumps mean they have a boat anchor of a contract.
What sound logic.

I can tell you one thing that jumped out at me.
He is unquestionably being defended differently today. I can count on one hand (and still have fingers remaining) of how many times he was slashed in that entire video. Nowadays, he'd be slashed more on one shift.

I think part of the reason for Johnny's decline in points this year is the fact that he's played the majority of the season with either Chiasson or Brouwer on his wing. He needs a guy like Hudler who can finish. Monahan can only do so much. It's hard to get points when you're basically short handed all season.
Gaudreau definitely deserves criticism but I think a lack of depth on the RW plays a big part in this too.

If people insist on talking about Gaudreau, can they make a Gaudreau thread?
With the trade deadline approaching, would be nice to discuss actual trade rumours in this thread.

Soo in other words, he is not good enough to run a line by himself and make the players he is playing with better..

I'm not saying Gaudreau can't rebound, but I have my doubts that he will on Gulutzan's team.

The problem is, we do not have the cap room to bring in a RW to compliment Gaudreau if that is what he needs, at least not without giving up a substantial contract.

Then you get rid of Glen Gulutzan. Only in Calgary would fans consider trading away a cornerstone player for a league minimum, minor league caliber, head coach.

So you move Giordano. You don't move a young impact player with a decade of high level hockey ahead of him. Where's the microscope up the ass of Giordano or Brodie? Outside of Wideman, these two are the biggest busts on the team this year. Gaudreau has not been great, but he is hardly the biggest problem on this team.

To be fair Chiasson could have the ice to him self, empty net, and the perfect pass and somehow will miss.

I still believe Ben Bishop is an elite goalie, but the hope there has to be as a free agent.

I agree, that would be preferable. I just don't see Treliving backtracking on the coach he hand selected. Not this soon anyway.
Gaudreau's demeanor has changed a lot this season. He seems frustrated and if Treliving wants to run with Gulutzan, I don't see Gaudreau's value getting any higher.
I have nothing against Gaudreau at all. Quite the opposite actually. I think he is being wasted on this team.

If he's still asking for anywhere near 7×7 - pass.

Treliving will fire glue gun long before he even thinks of trading JG.
Treliving needs to fire GG as soon as possible and then launch him into the sun.
