Talked to a person this morning at work...a die-hard republican. But a republican that can't stand Trump and wrote in "Kasich" on her ballot. She said I can't do anything about the election but I can make my voice heard so she called the congressional office. The message said they are experiencing higher than normal calls and were not able to answer all inquiries. Then you had a menu to choose from: "Press 1 if it relates to President Trump. Press 2 for all other issues."
1 probably redirects to a messaging service that auto deletes.
Another person at work said it best "I don't care if I agree with your policies or not that's what an election is about. But you damn well better treat the job with respect and surround yourself with competent people. If you don't want to be serious and do the job properly then quit." This person voted Trump.
This will probably be the most active account on Twitter pretty soon!

Oh you're just in on it, bringing up weird punc-tuation to distract us from the fact that Hillary didn't visit Pennsylvania often enough and that's the real scandal here.
I think the only problem with him being removed now is it gives his supporters fodder. They really need his supporters to turn against him before anybody tries to remove him. I am not sure how that will happen though.
The hard core supporters don't need to turn and never will. The more mainstream Republicans just need to turn. I hope they are getting close. Fox news is slowly shifting to slightly critical of Trump, but definitely haven't turned yet. I think they are an important bellweather for the not-as-crazy right.
Interesting short doc from tonight's National on the recent influx of refugees fleeing the U.S. into Canada because of Trump's immigration policies and the fear of being deported. About halfway through the segment, the camera crew comes across a frightened guy from Somalia on the side of the road who just snuck across the Manitoba border.
Hard to believe we're living in a time where people are trying to escape the U.S. out of fear and desperation. Unreal.
I wish there was some follow up on what happened to this guy.

He found that “a rarely invoked 1924 law could be used to examine President Donald Trump's tax returns for possible conflicts of interest and Constitutional violations,” USA Today reported. “The 1924 law gives congressional committees that set tax policy the power to examine tax returns. It was used in 1974 when Congress looked at President Richard Nixon's returns, and in 2014 when the Ways and Means Committee released confidential tax information as part of its investigation into the Internal Revenue Service's handling of applications for nonprofit status.”
This prompted Democrats on the committee to introduce an amendment Tuesday that would’ve triggered a request for the tax returns to the Treasury Department. “Unless this amendment is adopted, we will never see the president's tax returns while he's in office,” Representative Sander Levin told his Republican colleagues. “Before you stonewall this, I urge you to think twice. You'll only keep the issue alive.”
Last year, after some of Trump’s worrying foreign conflicts were exposed, I argued that Congress cannot fulfill its constitutional duty to check and balance the next president, or provide adequate oversight of the federal agencies he presides over, without a full, accurate understanding of his business holdings and debts. I urged Americans to tell their representatives that they favor an exhaustive inquiry into Trump’s finances to determine exactly where his interests and ours diverge.

The problem is that mainstream Reublicans can't win without the support of deplorables and Tea Partiers. Convincing most moderate Republicans won't matter if they can't appease those other groups.
The right in America is fracturing to the point that I doubt moderates can control it. If they want to quell the influences that brought Trump to power to begin with, they are either going to need to lure right-leaning Dem supporters to crossover, or cross party lines themselves and support the Democrats and try to inject Republican ideals into that party from within.

Most "actual" politicians, particularly leaders of state, would likely say "I guess you can't believe everything you read in the media" and MOVE ON to your actual job.
The big issue now is that while Trump is doing a good job distracting the public, some serious stuff is happening that people are just glossing over.
