Bernie Sanders called Trump a pathological liar and Al Franken had this to say, this past weekend.
Quote:
“In the way that we all have this suspicion that — you know, that he’s not — he lies a lot, he says things that aren’t true, that’s the same thing as lying, I guess,” Franken told moderator Jake Tapper, mentioning the president’s repeatedly false claims of voter fraud.
“You know, that is not the norm, uh, for a president of the United States or, actually, for a human being,” Franken said.
|
I think Democrats should just keep hammering that point constantly. Trump is a pathological liar.
I wonder how many swing voters, went with Trump because he hammered the point of "crooked Hillary", even though he was, lying.
Every Dem, every day, should be mentioning that.
They have plenty of material to support the claim.

Remaining "subservient" to an administration you suspect of treason would be treason itself, wouldn't it?

Trudeau shows up at White House, hops out of the Escalade, gets the usual awkward handshake from The Donald. CNN plays this in the background on the second screen as they discuss Beyonce's performance last night, and how prominent her belly was.

If there is one thing Trudeau and Trump can find common ground is their ability to manipulate the media to their advantage.
Two polar opposite methods of doing so however the same end goal.

Not saying you're wrong. I cut the cable a long time ago and have been pretty much off the grid when it comes to the mainstream media (except for clips that people post, which I take with a grain of salt).
How does Trudeau manipulate the media?

The strategy Democrats need to take is tying everything that Trump says and does back to the Republicans and the Republican party. Make them own President Comacho. They are the ones enabling him by passing all of his nominees and not pushing back on his executive orders, so they own this #### storm. Democrats have to make sure the public knows that Trump is a Republican and the Republicans in congress are his partners and enablers. They do this, they will win the mid-term in a landslide.

Positive Feel Good narratives and imagery. Selfie King. Sunny Ways. "Stories" that cater to the left media bias that resonates with the good nature of Canadians. He uses those to deflect attention from his ACTIONS that may be less palpable to Canadians.
Trump is the opposite. He uses negative imagery and narratives to get the media to dedicate air time and webspace to detailing these constant negative stories that distract from his ACTIONS that are not palpable to Americans getting all worked up over his little "terrible" transgressions.
Both use the media to 'pull the wool over the eyes' of the media consuming public to at least partially hide (or hide in the noise) their bad actions.

It would appear membership at Mar-A-Lago should be required to come with national security clearance. Just mind boggling incompetence.

So business as usual. Nothing Harper wasn't doing.
Back to Trump.

I think there is a big difference though between trying to be likable in front of the media and doing what Trump does, where he tries to discredit the media by promoting conspiracy theories and restricting their access.
Almost every politician uses the the media to try and become popular by promoting positive images. Who can forget Stephen Harper's "kitten photos" (complete with electric guitar placed conspicuously in the background), or Stockwell Day's perfectly posed jet-skiing photo-op in Kelowna? It's exactly the same thing Trudeau does.

Wondering how Trudeau did with Dump's dumpy handshake?
Wonder no more:

Looked like he was ready for it, ended up being a strong handshake.
