A double nm. I'm impressed.

But next time please save your anti Semitic rants for the off topic forum. And contain them to one post, please.

Haha, I always laugh at the idiots that are posting game thread posts in some other random thread. Now I know the feeling.

MAF to Dallas makes a ton of sense if they can send back a goalie. It may be the only way the Pens get positive value for Fleury in a deal

You don't think they'd care about losing Matt Murray to Las Vegas?

Especially if he is the one backstopping them there. It would be a disaster. Chances are very slim the finals go past the 17th though.

Looking at the numbers,. if the Pens send MAF to Dallas they would probably want Niemi back. Makes 1.25M less and would only be under contract until the end of the 17-18 season.

Thats not taking into account that Niemi could be exposed and chosen in the expansion draft.

At any rate, MAF & a late pick for Niemi and a higher pick would work. Unless Rutherford is greedy.

I think it would be MAF and a second for Niemi and a third or fourth.

The pens are going to have to pay to get rid of MAF

And yet Dallas is the one desperate for a goalie. Going to be interesting. Could tip either way, really.

  1. Niemi to Pittsburgh for Fleury.

  2. Pittsburgh protects Murray, leaving Niemi available in the expansion draft.

  3. Dallas protects Fleury, leaving Lehtonen available.

  4. Vegas takes Niemi and Lehtonen in the expansion draft.

  5. Profit?

Taking Niemi and Lehtonen is the exact opposite of profiting. You'd get two overpaid, overrated goalies. There's a reason why DAL is unhappy with their goaltending

I keep hearing all this talk about people making deals with Vegas to not pick certain unprotected players. makes me wonder if there will be any deals with Vegas to take certain players a team may want to get rid of.

TSN has updated their trade bait board... now has 25 players including Evander Kane

I see that Dennis Wideman isn't on TSN's trade bait board.

... OH! bait. Nevermind.

I swap the picks if I am doing that deal. The Pens would be better off buying out Fleury than sitting on Niemi's deal and downgrading picks

Entirely possible. McPhee has already stated that he knows he will have to build this team through the entry draft not the expansion draft.

You could see some deals like, the last two years of Matt Stajan and a 2nd for a 4th type of thing.

I'm pretty sure Vegas will actually call about cap dumps and ask for picks/prospects for said contracts and threaten to take better players if no good offers emerge. IIRC, they need to be cap floor compliant.
