Flames play in Pitt?
Pitt with only 5 home losses all season?
Flames blow 2-0 lead?
Flames insist on playing Monahan line with Wideman?
Flames not let Backlund/Frolik on PP in OT?
I know what that means...

Flames are 4-1-0 with that strategy. It's working so far.
Winning despite the goaltending. 3 straight games of garbage goals. Eventually that wil catch up with us. This is a playoff team if they get consistent goaltending
Which they haven't got all year. I don't think we are going to get that unless we stick with someone.
Great win though and I wouldn't fluctuate what is currently working, but the 5 day break kind of gives a chance for a reset
Is it really that easy to knock a goalies mask off? I'm nowhere near NHL velocity on the wrister, but I've hit PLENTY of goalies in the face and never knocked a strap loose. I swear the goalies in the show loosen the snaps off or something.
Yeah I thought it was pretty obvious that the strap had come undone and it is totally normal for the goaltender to shake off the helmet and bring it to the refs attention.
It's totally normal because they know the ref has to call the play the dead so they take advantage of it. I've played goal. A loose strap doesn't always mean you can't keep your helmet on your head.
I have trouble giving Murray the benefit of the doubt on his mask coming off. Maybe it's selective memory, but it seems like his mask comes off at least once in every game I've seen him play. Maybe he should get his equipment tuned up.

Ok Treliving get to work, a top line RW and Wideman in the A...
People may "flame" on you, but I agree with both comments.
It's very clear that Wideman is not just "out of place"; he's hurting this team. If we're serious about making playoffs, he needs to be put on bottom pairing, at least. Even "40 year old Matt Cullen" walked around him tonight.
And you are also correct about the top line RW. Neither Chiasson nor Brouwer is the answer--and I'm satisfied with their overall play this season. But neither is a top-line winger.
Playoff style hockey is all I care about. Stretch run of the season and games like this against top teams makes me thankful as a fan. Can't wait for the 4 games against the Kings.

Based on the current OOT scores, with StL 5 @ OTT 0 (3rd), the Flames will finish the night in wild card spot #2. Will they still be in a spot by the next game on Monday?
We're still in the #1 spot since The Blues move up to 3rd in the Central and Nashville has 58pts.
But ya, don't know if we will still be there by Monday.
Monahan was a beast in the dot tonight, especially in OT on that PP.
Thought Brouwer was hot garbage tonight though; was a turnover machine and plays died on his stick, which is unfortunate because I thought he played well in NY and NJ.
Great win to go into the BYE week for the Flames; will be nice to start having games in hand on some teams that we are battling with.
