People are "allowed" to say what they want and in turn have those opinions challenged.

It's rather that the social class of people who despise Trump A) tie any subject into him to the point of obsession, and B) assume everyone in their audience shares their obsession and hatred.

There are media outlets out there where 40 per cent of stories - on everything from lifestyle to sports to economics to entertainment - refer to Trump and the era of dread and despair that 'we' apparently all live in. In another thread I referenced the Globe and Mail's Superbowl game story that was all about Trump. It's to the point where the online recipes open with "in these days of bleak despair, we could all use a nice home-cooked stew..."

One incessant poster speculated that Trump was having ED because of a medication he allegedly took for baldness and that's why he's acting so crazy. Which has nothing to do with anything. So yeah, I'd say hating on Trump for any and all possible reasons is definitely in vogue.
