While I wish we had Canadian territory in the sun belt the odds of California, Oregon and Washington leaving the United States are about as good as me being a winning jockey in the Kentucky Derby.

California is going to burn up and then fall into the ocean, we don't need that headache.

Had an idea!

The fact that this is even being discussed is pretty sad.
Akin to the morons in Alberta or Quebec who have wanted to leave the country depending on who is in power.

You seem pretty worked up about it, silly.

In reality all that would accomplish is mass exodus of Canadians to California. I would be first in line of course for San Diego.

Except one of those is a very real threat. States joining Canada and Alberta leaving Canada are silly discussions and would never happen. The other is Quebec.

Ignoring the constitutional nightmare it would cause, Canada would essentially be joining California, not the other way around.
If it were Washington and Oregon, maybe Idaho and Montana, maybe worth the risk of Canada balkanizing when the constitution is forced open, but not California. Too big and too fundamental a change.

God no, 30 million Californians would destroy us.
I think the US and Canada should break off into like 6 or 7 nations though. I think people would be happier.

Would be better if we could get the entire Northeast north of Pennsylvania with it (and really just Philly, #### the rest of the state). Then Canada is the richest country on earth, America's remainder almost certainly becomes poorer than Mexico, but at least they can have their religious theocracy they desperately seek (most of the remaining states I mean).

Quebec is silly as well. The US at least would welcome Alberta. Quebec has nothing if they separate.

I love this quote on the logistics of getting the necessary votes to secede by one of the organizer's of the movement
Quote:
Evans says he's not fazed.
"America already hates California, and America votes on emotions," he said. "I think we'd have the votes today if we held it."
|
This is exactly how it feels to live in California since the election sadly

It's true though. I'm on a lot of American sports and automotive forums and Americans dislike California more than a typical Western Canadian loathes Quebec.

Well, you should quit projecting that on others and critically evaluate things without getting emotional.

Sorry, to clarify, it would be beyond stupid on their part. I was just stating that ridiculously, it's a real threat.
