high interest and high price for Duchene
no firm offers on table right now
asking price 3 or 4 high ending pieces
if it is 3 pieces, the main pieces must be a establsihed young player 20-24 years old plus 1st round pick plus top prospect
if the player isn't established it must be 4 high end pieces including the player

Hanzal is a perfect fit for Montreal, but Bergevin still has to do some heavy lifting for a trade to happen
10 teams interested in Hanzal

Avs are flush with rental players
Rene Boruque is in high demand as a rental, but may have suffered an injury last night

Sens listening to offers on Lazar, but aren't ready to give up on him yet
asking price is high

LeBrun believes Hitchcock might coach again ONLY IF he feels comfortable with and trusts the GM
What sort of heavy lifting is involved in a trade?

Evaluate your players that you should already know?

Duchene for 3 high end pieces?

Flames don't have the 20-24 year old eatablished player to give up (obviously Monahan, Gaudreau, Bennett, Tkachuk are off the table).

If we are looking at 4 high end pieces the price is probably Kylington, Jankowski, Klimchuk, 1st?

I don't see Sakic getting close to an offer like that

Duchene would be a nice addfor Calgary could play him at centre and shift Bennett to the wing tonform a speedy line or play him RW with Monahan and Gaudreau.

presumably finding out if Coyotes will take another offer..

it has been reported by Friedman that Coyotes initial ask for Hanzal was McCarron, 1st round pick, and a conditional pick. The Habs balked at that price..

They just have to call Katz and remind him that Lazar played for the Oil Kings and they'll be able to get whatever they want from Edmonton.

The Kings make more sense with Sutter.

Agreed, Kings make way more sense.
I momentarily pictured Kesler and Iginla celebrating after a goal together and threw up a little bit.

lots of conversations on Bourque, Mitchell, Martinsen amongst other
Rene Boruque is in high demand as a rental, but may have suffered an injury last night
lol

Beyond me why anyone would want to have serious conversations on acquiring the contracts of any of these guys. They may be expiring contracts but they're no good. Mitchell and Martinsen are steaming garbage and Bourque is a has been.

I mean, Rene Bourque in high demand??? Really Mackenzie? Really?? That's hilarious!

Talks about Simmonds being traded is busted.

Quote:
There have been rumors picking up steam this week regarding a potential trade of Philadelphia Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds, and they have been loud enough that Simmonds himself commented on the possibility of a trade. While the rumors have largely linked Simmonds to a potential trade with the Canadiens he downplayed that talk, pointing to the fact that he has continuously been linked to that market merely due to the fact that he has family that lives in the city.
It appears that Simmonds assessment of the situation was correct as now one of the top insiders in the Montreal market, TVA Sports' Renaud Lavoie has come out and poured water all over those rumors.
In a brief 10 minute interview with TVA Lavoie stated flatly that not only would Simmonds not be traded to the Habs, but that the Flyers had no intention of trading him at all as they battle for a playoff spot.
This is one rumor you can put to bed.

rumor from Montreal Freelance reporter:

Stormin Norman ‏@Stormin1Norman
Former #Habs Mike Ribeiro asked for a trade yesterday #NHL

Stormin Norman @Stormin1Norman
#Preds want to play the young kids
Mke Ribeiro first choice is Montreal
But he does not hold the cards. #NHL

Adam Vingan ✔ @AdamVingan
Asked Peter Laviolette yesterday where Mike Ribeiro stood with him: "He's a member of our team." Not a real ringing endorsement.

Meh, Ribeiro only has four goals this year. Understand that he's primarily a playmaker, and that's fine, but he's also 37 in seven days.

Duchene is a good player and all but if this is what the Avs are asking I don't think he's going to get moved as that's too much for only two guaranteed seasons of service. If the team is allowed to work out a contract extension then maybe but that's too much for just two seasons of the player.

Given the asking price of him and Landeskog I don't see either one moving. Sakic's expectations are ridiculous.
