Normally pitchers aren't allowed to blow on their hands but when the temperature becomes cold enough (as it is tonight), the umpires make an exception.

they could just run a Kenny Rogers cam and it'd be entertaining. Good to see him using his emotions in a good way. Great performance on a night where just hanging onto the ball would have been difficult.

Rogers is on a mission.
23 scoreless innings this post-season...unbelievable. He should get 1 more start too, and maybe relief work if it goes 7 games.

Rogers was sick again. I loved seeing the emotion for nearly every pitch, this guy wants it so bad. I hope this series goes 7

Did anyone catch any of Rogers at the post game press conference. It's like they sprayed him with Morphine and wrapped him up like a mummy. All he could do was look around and say next question. Still on the field he's been dynamite for the Tigers. Next two games should be pretty good. I think the Cards need to take them if they want to win this series. But they also have their two best guys going out there to do it, so it should be good.

So the question is - if your the Tigers do you still hold back Rogers for Game 6?

you can't. Do or die time, get Kenny on the mound.

I agree but man that error that allowd the Cards to tie was brutal. How can a pitcher throw a 90mph fast ball to within in an inch of a spot and then throw a ball to first like that.

If Rogers can pitch, he HAS to pitch game 5. Best chance for a win, and if they win, they get to gome home for 6 and 7 where anything can happen.

I tend to agree. If the series ends in 5, and Rogers only would have taken the mound once, that's a pretty big decision that will be second guessed.
But Leyland I believe already said regardless of the outcome in game 4, Rogers would be held ot game 6. Course he could always change his mind.
Meanwhile if he is held to game 6, it would be him v. Chris Carpenter. Helluva matchup.

They need to put Rogers in the game because he's the only Tigers pitcher who knows how to field his position. Maybe the rest of them should start planting pine tar on their bodies so they can make throws to first and third.

Stick a fork in it.
Can't fault the Tigers - what an amazing turn around season.

Yes but they also put forth one of worst performances in world series history. Horrible defense, not hitting, nothing. Frankly, they looked like the Royals out there.
Glad to see the Cards win but a pretty frickin poor WS.

In other words, they returned to playing like they did the last 50 games of the season. I cant think of another team - in any sport - that went to the extremes of hot-cold-hot-cold as the Tigers did this year.

Amazing to think, if Houston doesn't blow it against the Braves on the last day of the season the Cardinals might not have even made the playoffs.

The Jays(87-75) won 4 more games than the Cardinals(83-78).
In the NL, the Phillies had more wins (85) but didn't make the post season.
In the AL, Jays(87) Bosox(86) Chisox(90) Angels(89) didn't make the playoffs.
